Expected - I didn’t think we would relegate, but I thought it will be a hard slog just over the line stuff Why better? Never have I expected survival would mean we got an astute and a gem of a manager in Cifuentes and the few home games of gritty determination and belief that ensured our survival - 2-2 WBA, 2-1 Birmingham and of course the historic 4-0 trashing of Leeds made it better than expected Really looking forward to next season even before the curtains fall today. We need to tie Marti down with a new deal (but I am suspecting he loves to be here, otherwise what could explain the nut case of getting this job in the first place?) |

Marti will be even more revered if he gets a tune out of Richards next season Watch this space! |

I think Norwich won’t take this lightly, in order to avoid having get Leeds for the playoffs semi And Plymouth v Hull is not a forgone. Just only recently most thought that it was a given but the odds on favourites were whipped 4-0 |

- thought we wouldn’t be relegated before the season began despite being odds on favourite - thought the players were ok and not league one standard many claimed, just needed to be coached well and tactics instilled However, could only justify the above two points by prayer or a miracle in waiting……. And then we have Marti…….😃 [Post edited 28 Apr 22:35]

I think Norwich still has a lot to play for even though they are almost certainty for one of the play off spots, will be eager to finish 5th to avoid either Leeds or Ipswich, so it won’t be easy for Birmingham Won’t be easy for Plymouth either with Hull trying to better WBA for the final playoff spot Four big matches on the final day, not to forgetting Leicester v Blackburn and Sunderland v Wednesday Any one of them doing a “QPR” deserves to stay up |

To put into perspective Begovic’s flap at Plymouth, the following week, Preston keeper fumbled mis-catch led to Dykes’s goal and the incredible back spinner own goal by Blackburn keeper against Wednesday |

Are we serious? Would you prefer to go Coventry last game away still in fear of relegation? As it stands, 4 teams are still in the mix considering Huddersfield are virtually down. Love to be in this privileged position speculating the what ifs but not suffering last day uncertainty. It is very important to get our recruitment right and preseason preparation- so much to look forward to, surely boredom isn’t one of them! |

Plymouth to do a QPR on Hull at home, maybe not a thrashing, but a narrow nail biter to dump the tigers out of the playoffs Birmingham - it will be all too ironical if they do go down, which I think is the most likely - just need to draw or lose and they are done |
| Forum Reply | Willock - Will He Stay? at 14:36 27 Apr 2024
I thought Willock wanted off even before Ainsworth’s appointment? If he stays, I won’t have an issue if that is what Cifuentes wants |

We had 8 attempts to get out of the relegation pack, almost as many attempts to put Championship safety to bed, but QPR being QPR we just had to do this to perfection in the ultimate home game with all the thrills and drama as if we had just waited to unleash the grand finale on our own stage to a full capacity crowd. Who would have written this script let alone acted it out to perfection Love it! [Post edited 26 Apr 22:15]
