This lad didn't exactly pull up any trees on loan in a very poor QPR team a few seasons ago.
Since then he's been at Villa and Everton, started less than 50 games, scored zero goals & 4 assists.
How da fuq does that make him worth 22 million?!?!?!?!?
Someone should show Hull a video of that match when we let in 6 up at soon-to-be-relegated Blackpool. Iroegbunam's attitude that night was a disgrace. Unbelievable lack of effort.
That's what Hull will be getting from him in 12 months time when they're back in the Championship.

His stats would suggest he’s very much not a baller but is very good at one specific thing which is getting about the pitch and stopping the other team playing, so I can kind of see the logic for Hull who won’t have much of the ball and need some legs in midfield. Not for £22m but transfer fees are becoming almost meaningless in the Premier League.
Credit to the guy in a way for, presumably going entirely on his numbers as it’s not like I’m watching Everton regularly, changing his game to play at a higher level rather than being Ballie Ballerson in the lower leagues because you wouldn’t have said there’s that sort of player in there at 19. | | | |

£13m with £9m in add-ons is more reasonable, but still a lot for a player that’s never done a lot.
He was always available for us which is more than Laird, Roberts etc could say.
The current premier league market is insane, no doubt driven by the wonderfully successful FFP or whatever it’s called now. Bang average players going for £50m+, half-decent players being sold for £100m+, mind blowing really. |  |

£50million for Delap is a joke. North Battersea bought him for £30million last season, he did 7/8th of fùck all for them and they make a 20million profit!
Looking at the BBC sports website this morning and the potential moves that might be happening today and the values for players I’ve never heard of is obscene. FFP or whatever it is now is a complete joke. Scrap the whole thing and let the big teams spend themselves into oblivion. It is so refreshing when reading that we are the lowest spending club (ok along with the financial mess that is SheffU), and yet we have put together a really decent squad for this season. Just to correct the OP: it's a £12 million transfer upfront, with add-ons that could come to £22 million. If he achieves those add-ons, he'd be worth it.
Bearing in mind he cost Everton just over £9 million two summers ago, has since played 50 games, with 30 coming last season when he was good value in that team.
So, a £3 million mark up in two years of PL football for a mobile, strong, technically sound 23-year-old English midfielder seems reasonable, perhaps even decent value in today's deadline day market. | | | |

He's going to Hull because he'll get a signing on fee worth QPR's weekly wage bill, and if they stay up he'll get a bonus worth more than any player we could sign and Everton will get the balance of that £22 million. So it's quids in all round and there's no guarantee than Everton will have any kind of season or that Moyes will see Christmas there. Of course he goes.
Incidentally, when did you last watch him play a full match? Because he's the not the player you describe. He and Garner play in a double pivot and were dominant in the game they drew with City last May that I watched: he's an excellent midfielder, 23 years-old with a high ceiling and over 100 games under belt.

I must've been watching a different Tim Iroegbunam to many of you when he was at QPR.
I don't care if he's well-liked by the rest of the players.
I expect the same is true of the bloke who drives the coach.
He certainly did down tools when he was with us. He had about as much effect on most games as other lacklustre midfielders we've had. He was basically a younger Karl Henry but people gave him a free pass because they believed the hype. [Post edited 1 Sep 22:56]
