correct, signing in reduces the pop ups considerably - you can only be signed in on one device at a time, so if you sign in on your laptop and then look at LFW on your phone you'll see pop ups etc. |

Absolutely heroic effort Clive in getting all of this together, thanks to you, Steve and Producer Jaz getting this altogther.
As a peep behind the curtain for everyone else, however much time you think it took Clive to put all of this together, it's easily twice as long. I'm knackered, and i'm just the tech guy!

I think there are two figures at play here, and it's important to be aware of both of them - what his generally acccepted peer value is, and what value he has to us.
I'd think that most people would agree that Ronnie is right now, all things being equal, a CB in the £10-£12m range, based on his age, ability, his potential ability, the length of his contract, the English tax etc. but £10-12m doesn't do QPR a lot of good, when you consider what we paid for him, the sell on clause that we'd need to pay Southampton, his importance to the team, the need to get a couple of replacements in from him, and the trading model which needs a significant sale/profit every year or so, not just a sale/profit - We'd probably end up only clearing a couple of million profit on a £10m plus add ons sale, and baring in mind our initial outlay, that's not a huge ROI.
So whilst his value on the Transfermarket websites might be £10-12m, his value to us is closer to £18m, as that would represent the sort of return that our player trading model is looking for, allowing for all other extras noted above. It's also worth noting that neither Brentford nor Brighton, the clubs we're looking to emulate, got into their position by selling their assets cheaply. They made it known that they were available for sale, but they would only be sold for the right price. Nobody would consider lowballing either Brentford or Brighton because they know it's pointless.
We sail fairly close to the wind on FFP (whatver it's called now) every year, but i don't think we've been in a position where we are desperate to sell for a while now, so why would we sell him for whatever transfermarket say he's worth? My Car is worth around £10k, but i'm not going to sell it to you if you offer me £10k, i'd need more to make it worth my while... |

could you clear up a burning question i have?
my understanding previously was that when a transfer occurs, the headline figure was the one that was considered for FFP/PSR/Whatever, regardless of installments etc. so for example a player that was bought for £15m in three installments of £5m a year, the whole £15m went into the calculations for FFP etc., whilst the actual £5m a year recevied into the bank was in fact just a more boring 'backend' cash flow situation.
however with the new Squad Cost Rules / SCR calcs, the £5m a year actually received is now actually the headline figure when crunching and balancing numbers, not the £15m. in fact, for those of a fairly sound financial footing, the £5m a year may in fact be preferable, as a 'contstant' source of income for SCR, as opposed to the single hit of £15m which could end up being 'wasted' if you're way in the black? |

for additional context, Clive was in a room by himself, me and Mrs Jeff (Producer Jaz on the patreon etc.) were in the next room, which had one of those weird adjoining doors that meant we could go directly into Clive's room and vice versa.
We had generally been going between the rooms freely up until this point, obviously knocking as a common courtesy. it's safe to say that when we knocked on this occasion, Clive made it clear in no uncertain terms that we were NOT to enter the room, and he was not liable for what we discovered and saw if we chose to do so |

I am generally the least superstitious / spiritual / religious person i know. a complete physicalist in every sense...
BUT, six weeks ago, i wore the current QPR keeper home kit in goal for a 5 a side match and i was absolutely unbelievable. Rolling back the years. and i then wore it the following week and i was nearly as good again. So i've worn it every week since, and i'm in some of the best form in recent memory.
i've got a game on Monday for a different team where i have to wear a different kit, and i'm genuinely nervous |
