Never said anything about them speaking Welsh in Lampeter. I just said it was unfriendly because that was my experience there.
Other people may have different experiences.

It always strikes me as odd that the notion of Welsh, Scottish and Irish nationalism is seen and portrayed as a positive, progressive sort of warm and fuzzy soft left wing thing but British or English nationalism is an evil far right fascist ideology.
The arguments for independence, sovereignty and self determination are precisely the same arguments that led to the UK leaving the European Union, but that was seen as a backwards step by the nationalists in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Nothing makes sense. |

We saw in the last election the Labour Party losing previously impregnable safe seats to independents standing purely on a pro Muslim/pro Gaza platform. This was despite them winning a record majority nationally.
We’ve also seen the greens campaigning in Urdu.

He was on the verge this time last year but turned it around. I think Wrexham have to realise they have probably hit a wall considering how far they’ve come and spending oodles of money doesn’t have the same effect in the championship when there are so many teams with parachute payments etc spending even more oodles of money. |

Most unfriendly place I’ve ever visited in the UK by a country mile is Lampeter. The whole time we were there we were aggressively asked “are you English?”. I got randomly assaulted by this big fat monster of a woman in a pub, apparently she didn’t like the way I looked at her and she just started battering me. Then she had the cheek to call the police and said I assaulted her. They took one look at the cctv, saw I did literally nothing apart from sit there and be battered and they asked if I wanted to press charges. I didn’t want to go through the rigmarole of it so I said no. Should have in hindsight.
Couldn’t wait to get away from the place. Will never go back. |

I think if anyone looks at the situation objectively they would see clearly that Farage is at far more risk of serious attack than Ed Davey. He’s been attacked several times before, gets death threats on a daily basis and one of his close associates has just been clubbed to death in her own kitchen.
I can’t think of an MP who would be at a higher risk of attack. Potentially Starmer because all sides seem to hate him. |

Nah they wouldn’t stand a chance. And they know it. They had the element of surprise last time, got a good foothold and still got unceremoniously booted off. They are hoping for pressure from Trump to force their hand politically, as he is greedily eyeing up the oil field. Fortunately he’ll be gone in just over two years. Perhaps even sooner than that as his health seems to be deteriorating before our very eyes on a daily basis. |

I’m no fan of Farage or reform at all, and although this will be awkward for them in the very short term they will no doubt use it as another example as how the establishment is bending over backwards to get them. And unfortunately they’ve probably got a point. |

Exactly right. This is what people nearly always get wrong about Putin. He’s not trying to reform the USSR. He’s trying to rebuild the Russian Empire. He wants to be seen as a Tsar of old, not a general secretary. |
