I doff my considerable cap to you Planet for taking up the gauntlet and starting the fred There were serious questions being raised after Tuesday who was man enough to face the slings and arrows of outrageous fortunes... you sir are a gallant bedfellow No Madsen..... 3rd game of the week... the pitch taking on the resemblance of no man's land at the Somme.... Holloway's tombola dusted off... and the walking wounded, fatigued and the down righted knackered, cowering in the corner dreading the fickle finger of fate. . "You're starting Saturday son" So we go again .. result... mystic Meg could predict this... 0.-3 for the blades... and total collapse of the Nourry empire ensues.... But it is QPR... and so .... with that in mind 1-3.... Walsh with a 90 yard worldie.... |

I think he is pretty secure as of today....and the injuries will be the deciding factor in keeping him He is Nourry's man and Nourry is not going to sack him ........ yet Think the bigger question is how much of this disaster is down to him. If he is a factor in it, then he really does deserve to go along with the non-performance team, no way you can label them performance!! No if he as very little control over performance... then he might want to walk.... because if he isn't involved in the decision making, it must be pretty frustrating for him. For now unless there is a major meltdown he will stay |

Have a feeling that young Morgan will be sacrificed in the Madsen role on Saturday When Madsen went off last night my nephew said.... should bring on Varane and move Vine to the Madsen role and shut up shop until HT to reasses where we go.. yeah right So JS arm around young Morgans shoulder saying " Right Mon petite.... you have not played for yonks, our best player is, oh how you say sh@gged... go out there and make a name for yourself " or words to that affect Expecting that lad to actually influence thr game under our circumstances is a criminal decision |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen hamstring at 08:29 25 Feb 2026
Totally agree.. it is the modern game played so fast and so physically now Which makes this recent injury so unbelievable. OK we can say say, pardon the pun, that injuries have "hamstringed" JS choices, but he as to contend with this and adapt I was one of the few on here that wasn't too upset with the 3 x 0-0 bore fest, I kinda understand that, but what totally defies logic is playing players until they literally collapse I went last night, and I had every expectation of us being beat, but you kinda hope that he would rest Kone, Madsen and even Dunne We could have started Bennie for Kone, Varane for Madsen and JCS for Dunne.. stodge it up and even might have sneaked a draw... But know we play the exact same team.... people are having a go at Dunne... and I can't get my head around it... yes he had a bad game.... but FFS the lad is dead on his feet.... like Kone is.... and now Madsen is.... I left after the 4th... and I'm old enough and ugly enough to shrug a shoulder and say well let's go again, it wasn't my first Shellacking, that was Man utd in 1968... and I'm guessing it won't be my last. But what is p!ssing me off this morning it the club, not the players... the club have put these players in this position Inadequate preparation, poor use of resources, poor management, playing and recruiting players not suited for this division... the list can go on and on... |

The club and Nourry... well we assume it is Nourry.... seems to want to portray a ruthless streak... which is well and good, if it is successful... and not done to cut your nose off to spite your face We have done this with Field and Nardi and in to an extent Kolli. The Walsh situation is farcical if it wasn't so serious... the pre season friendly against Castillion was enough for me to show he is not a very good keeper, but yet we still keep picking the lad, hanging him out to dry Letting Field go to Norwich was just .... well in my mind crazy... a seasoned pro, never hardly injured, versatile and a decent holding midfielder... to a rival team... it is beyond belief.... OK he wanted more first team games, but every pro knows he is not automatically given starts, there are moments in your career when you are not utilised as much, but I'm guessing like Nardi he was perhaps overlooked. |

My only post on here this morning said I'm worried about Madsen and Kone... and lo and behold we have lost Madsen possibly tmfor the rest of the season!! FFS this is starting to really p!ss me off now. Was speaking to a lad who did Hull on Saturday and said they drove home but still didn't get back till late evening, and he was knackered... how do the players feel ? We very nearly had Southampton for 25 mins... but to be honest never really tested the keeper.... it is all so flat Damage limitation now... get Kone off... please JS.... and Bennie on..and I would also get Mbengue off as well |

Getting ready to travel upto Slough and meet up with the family before we venture Southampton bound.... 2nd game in 3 days for the players.. Hull and back and now on the road again... Afraid I can't see past a defeat tonight... Inuries, tired legs I think will do for us I would be more than happy with a 0-0 bore fest tonight... but what is more Important to me is resting Kone and Madsen Think it will be 0-2, but no more injuries would be the positive |

I'm sure Clive you are totally bored with how many times you are told how good you are. But add another Mugged this game off... and watched it from the comfort of home... but was getting regular updates from family who went... which as now persuaded me to go to Southampton... if brains was dynamite and all that..... Being of a certain vintage I loved the reference and images drawn of all these IT bods in the backroom pouring over stats and reporting on why this happened and why this didn't God knows what they would have made of the Rodney Marsh goal against Birmingham when he took on the whole defence single handed... with his back to goal... or when Stan use to pontificate about what part of the net he wanted to nestle the ball into.... before deciding to perhaps go back and beat the defender again... just for giggles So pleased I was able to enjoy those players... and all the other mavericks we have had at this club... Great win.... great report to boot |

Agree with the majority on here think we did a great bit of business with both Kone and Burrell.... 17 goals and 5/6 assists between them, in their first season in a higher league is nothing short of a fantastic return. I have a real feeling though we could very well loose Kone this summer.... I rate him a better prospect for higher clubs...... as said on the thread let's enjoy having the lad while he is here... |

Was in two minds before the Hull game ... as I never went to Hull... but the b@stards have dragged me in again... so booked a days holiday and staying at my brothers Tuesday night ..... Will I ever learn |

Mentioned earlier but the best was Kenneth Wolstenholme was superb. Think the modern commentary is designed for the harder of thinkers.. just insne drivel But us older lads were blessed with fantastic commentators of all sports really Bill McLaren doing the rugby, Peter Alliss the golf and the legend that was Ritchie Benaud |

That echoes my MIL... A wonderful woman... brought up 6 kids.... 5 girls and then nursed her husband through an heart attack and then Parkinson I managed to put my lass in the family way... so we had to go to Scotland and tell her parents... bad enough I was English, but the old man had Parkinson so wasn't exactly the most calm of me We arrived and mum told us to go for a drink and she will sort dad out... came back and I was met with, a fine mess this eh lad... and here is a large scotch... mum had put the hard word on him She lived to 100 and died 2 years ago... stillmissed so much... a true legend of a woman |
 | Forum Reply | Mr Kone at 16:27 21 Feb 2026
Think the lad is not only full of heart ... but is also a very good forward... and we need to enjoy him while he is still with When was the last time we had 2 forwards on 17 goals and 5 assists in one season let alone in February... fantastic business I'm really worried we are going to burn him out... he works so hards and gets clattered by big lumps at CH.... JS needs to think long and hard about him at Southampton on Tuesday This lad from Coventry as kind off put too much pressure on Kone by being injured |

So pleased for Kone... the lad look totally sh@gged.. he has played every game since Burrell as been injured... and nearly every minute. Great commitment |
