I'm simply taking Millwall at their word that their objection to the 'knee' is nothing to do with race and everything to do with creeping Marxism in society.

City's smash and grab sucker punch stuns QPR - Report

Notes during the game these days unfortunately. I do watch the replays but I try to judge the refereeing on what I thought at the time because that’s all the ref gets and I don’t like them getting caned by somebody who’s had the benefit of several freeze frame replays.

Thanks mate that's really kind, and to be honest exactly the sort of comment I needed to hear today. Very, very tough getting myself up for writing yesterday up . So gutting.

Thank you. You don't know how much difference that one small comment has made to my mood x

Tactical, I thought the same about the goal, but if you freeze frame the clip I've embedded above he gets there in time.

TSBains - Awaydays are back, all of the stuff about the atmosphere, ticketing etc will be in there.

TBF I gave Ball MOTM last week Gazza. I thought he was trying ideas above his station on Saturday, resulting directly in the Johansen booking where he played us into the sht. Still, a 6, it's not a 4.

And another thing...
There is a discussion on this post match in the Crown among up to a dozen of us. Thrash it out, agree and disagree. Sometimes I end up disagreeing with my own ratings, but I take on board what other people say in the pub.
I also pay attention to the interactive ratings from you guys on here, to make sure I'm not miles off from the group think.
And I have a look at the statistical one from WhoScored, though it does seem to place big value on stuff that I don't - Dom Ball always scores signficantly higher with them than with me.

I mean it's a nonsense really, boiling 90 minutes of football down to an arbitary rating out of 10.

I end up saying something similar to this every week but for yesterday...

Team performance is a 6/7. So that's where most of the ratings will be.
We've given two or three tens in 20 years I think, so certainly none of those.
You'll be lucky to get a 9 off us as well, and certainly in a team performance of 6/7. Dickie got a 9 at Hull where we thought the team performance was 7/8, he'd kept a clean sheet, scored a goal, and performed a miraculous goalline clearance. Nobody in that category yesterday so no 9s.
I thought Barbet was obviously the star man, and he's bumped up to an 8 by a goal and those three blocks in the first half. Dieng kept a clean sheet, made a great save at the start of the second half, I guess an 8 could be argued. De Wijs was my other top performer, but he hasn't scored and blocked three goal bound shots has he? So 7s.
I think the other 7s are self explanatory.
Of the 6s, I thought McCallum (understandably) tired badly second half, though I liked what I saw before that. Ball tried to do too much complicated stuff with the ball that he's not capable of, culminating in the Johansen booking.
Charlie I thought struggled, mainly due to him not really being suited to the lone striker role, and not getting the service, so niot his fault, and he did get an assist, but still a 5.
Obviously nobody lower than that.

For them, O'Hare, Hamer, Dabo and maybe Gyokeres would all have been 8s if they'd got a result/goal.

I've now got people coming up to me in the Crown to debate ratings post match :-D

Jack if you'd been serious I might have actually cried :-D

Dieng I've upped. I'm not sure I agree though. It's a team performance of a 6/7 so there's not meant to be too many 8s in that.

A 6 for this? It's worth at least 6.5. A 7 for him? This should be a 9. That should be a 4. He should be an 8. This is a 5.5.

Let's have a look at what you guys rated the players in the interactive ratings shall we?

Oh.

Seny Dieng 7.44
Moses Odubajo 6.54
Rob Dickie 6.96
Jordy de Wijs 7.13
Dominic Ball 6.48
Stefan Johansen 6.75
Yoann Barbet 7.73
Sam McCallum 6.35
Chris Willock 6.49
Ilias Chair 6.19
Charlie Austin 5.46

1 - Fair enough haven't seen back
2 - Agree, as you know
3 - Sigh. God I hate the bloody ratings. Smash my head against a brick wall. We give 9s very seldom. I take into account overall team performance, and the quality of the opposition. We were playing team a level beneath us.

Wasn’t as good as Dickie though, so can’t be an 8, and he wasn’t a 9. Was he as good as Chair, Willock and particularly Dunne? I didn’t think so. So not a 7.
