Postecoglou’s hissy fit is typical of people in football who have never been a true supporter of a team in their life. They can’t relate to the seemingly irrational mindset of despising the concept of your most hated rivals winning the League. They generally have no clue, players or managers, as they are totally immune to our thinking. Ironically enough, I wonder if Levy had a word in his ear about it. Levy was probably dreading the reaction of Spurs fans if Arsenal were to win the Prem, and as a Spurs fan it would have properly smarted. |

I remember in the Hoddle days that we sent Wimbledon down, which I thought was quite a sad end to a great story. And given that it probably then led to the MK Dons fiasco, we may have played an inadvertent part in a rather tawdry episode in football history. |

A draw was probably a fair result over the whole game. But we started terribly and could have easily have been 3-0 down after 10 minutes if West Brom had had their shooting boots on. |

Well, I would suggest there is a notable difference between £80 million and “over £100 million”, but there you are. We are “financially fvcked” to the extent that we are being propped up by Solak. Which is like 90% of other clubs and their owners. |

I will leave you to look at the most recently filed accounts of Southampton Football Club Limited on the Companies House website (the year ended 30th June 2023). You will hopefully (like me) then be wondering where the hell Alfie House is getting his numbers from. |

Is everybody on here completely against this? Are we just all too old on here? I personally quite like the Legia Warsaw approach of going ridiculously over the top with flares in the ground. But that will obviously never happen over here. The pyros thing by the Ted Bates statue. Yeah, fine if loads turn up, but it's going to be sh1t if it's just a couple of dozen nippers, and we'll be a laughing stock. Do not want drums, clappers or any of that sh1t in the ground. Just pure loud noise from fans' mouths from the moment the players walk out until the final whistle. Doesn't need to be singing, just be loud. It's not that hard. Nobody mucking about on phones during the game. That'll do me. |

Having been at the game, I recorded it on SKY and watched the recording last night. Having watched it back, I think the whole tie could have been over after 10 minutes. We started incredibly sloppily, kept giving the ball away, and West Brom could easily have been 3 up. We came into the game more as it went on, but the same old weaknesses reared their head again. Their right-winger had the beating of Manning, and their best chance in the first-half came from there being hardly any effort from Manning to block a cross. And Sekou. What can be said about him that hasn't already been said? I don't think he would score more than 6 goals a season if he moved to a League 1 team. And their chance towards the end which McCarthy saved, leading to Stewart's deflected shot. How their winger got past (I think) Downes and Jack Stephens down the touchline was fairly criminal. Still, good to see Aribo can last on the pitch for 90 minutes. And McCarthy having another good game will only make our defence more confident. |

1. We also drank in town, think we may have seen the forum editor in The Windsor pre-match. So much nicer not to have long queues at the bar or plastic glasses. 2. West Brom is my favourite away day. I love their ground, always a good atmosphere there and a decent away end, albeit a few hundred seats less than we would prefer. They are good fans, West Brom. Passionate but without being a nasty sinister edge. 3. It was indeed very hot up there. 4. We got a very early train up there yesterday, which it sounds like we didn't need to do, as the 9.15am train from Central was not the carnage I had thought it would be. 5. The sped up version of OWTS definitely needs persisting with. [Post edited 13 May 12:38]

Yellow card for Butty. You were warned, sir. Enaction of LOTMB. |

If you have dared to include Cup goals in your analysis, that will be a yellow card offence. It is a long-established LOTMB (Law of the Message Board) that Cup goals don’t count. |

God knows why, but I notice the Echo have today been re-living the horrors of the 2007 play-off defeat to Derby. In addition to remembering:- - the rain at Derby - our away fans being superb - Leon Best being a disaster - Derby's fans being arseholes my main memory was the thuggishness of Derby on the pitch, kicking Bale and Kenwyne Jones out of the tie in the first leg, much of their dirty stuff going unnoticed by officials. I think we have to be massively prepared for more of the same against West Brom. Corboran is a wily character, and he will know that their best chance of beating us is to bully and initimidate us, and to really be in our faces. Set pieces will also be a big tactic for them, monster long throws etc etc. If we don't stand up to all of this, it may very possibly not end well for us. |

Apologies, I appear to have inadvertently completely copied Butty's points. |
