Reply | Bowen's tackle before the goal - good tackle or should have been called?

Exactly as I saw it, plus when the WHU player won the ball he was outside the penalty area, but was inside it when he took Smyth's legs out as he fell. That took away Smyth's possibility of retrieving the ball in a dangerous position and why I think he gave the penalty. All this he took the ball bollox outside the area is irrelevant. I expect our continuing injury problems are down to multiple reasons, our continueing practice of signing players with historic injury issues, the increase in speed and physicality of the game, the increasingly tight schedule in the Championship especially for International players among them. The Club said they were doing a major review of this in the summer just gone, but I've not heard any results, has anyone?
It seems that they are taking greater care with player recovery as perhaps Kemper's planned substitution after 70 minutes is an example of. One thing I wonder about but not seen much talk about either from the Club or on here, though someone on another forum has banged on about it a lot, is it really just coincidental that this apparent increase in soft tissue injuries coincides with our move to the new training ground in the summer of 2023. Have the Club done proper testing of the pitches to ensure that they don't just look good, but are not too hard or otherwise contributing to these injuries? [Post edited 12 Oct 8:22]

Didn't know that, thanks. Tyler was by himself, Sinton in Norway Tyler said, so less information than normal. |

Tyler on QPR+ was also concerned for Kemper for a minute or two during the game , he was struggling with something physical. He didn't elaborate and they were probably on a a minute long focus of someone in the stands at the time. |

Don't agree in general, it's a 3 game week and Kemper has been out 2 months, but specifically Cirkin got a 3 match ban as I recall so won't be available for Wednesday or Saturday. |

I don't think the injuries to Burrell, Kone, Lloyd and Obikwu gave him too many alternatives. Who else can play striker? |

I thought the 3 in midfield were very good, controlled the game until we started having to make the subs. Madsen was the best of them for me, scoring the penalty and doing a lot of excellent defensive work, plus his passing was very good as usual. Not having a fit Burrell able to run into the large gaps and space behind them was a big miss for us. |

Definitely in the area. Souchec (sp?) cleared out Smyth's legs from under him, so what's to protest about the pen? We need em, Madsen scores em, and Charles saves em, Bowen's anyway who we so hear so much about. Decent point, could have been 3. Shame we seem to have lost Saito, Lamptey again, Adamson and Kemper. |

In the area for sure. Smyth had his legs cleared out by the West Ham player, so the penalty was just fine Madsen converts ours while Bowen can't there's. |

Ben looked an impressive youngster, argued his points very well with the 2 old sceptics. |

Agree with that from Burnham. There is too much leaping to judgement especially so when City are denying the charges and saying they will appeal. |

Very good read that, thanks Gather you didn't make it to the Isle of Mull?! Think I made it there in my old Mini when Terry Vegetables was still our Manager. |

Seems Varane came on as a 64th minute sub against Suriname. Think he played 60 odd minutes of their 1st game. |
