Agreed.
Many of us were questioning playing Vale/ Poku before the match but in fairness, what were the options?
We didn't have a single experienced centre midfielder on the bench.
With JCS presumably not 100% we couldn't play Ronnie in midfield.
But Vale and Poku did frustrate me. Wafting about when surely they could see how under the cosh we were.
As you say on Adamson, been great, but he was destroyed down his wing and too often was just ambling back after being caught up field. Even Boy Kember who has been brilliant was made to look pretty basic at times.
Not sure Stephan got into the team how hard they would have to graft to even keep the score respectable, let alone get anything. |

I love your positivity but no way were we the better side for most of the game. They were different class and tore us apart second half. No shame in that, their squad cost 10 times what ours did. We gave a respectable account of ourselves first half but second half am v sorry to say but our defence was humiliated at times, albeit under tremendous pressure |

We got pumped the 2nd half, could have been more in all honesty.
Still, next two games are the key ones, 6 points from those and today is forgotten |

First half we left players free at the back stick.
Julian been getting a lot of praise.
But that is so basic - why wasn’t it addressed at half time? |

We could all see changes were needed but he stuck with what wasn’t working. Nothing more inevitable than that goal |

Maybe Smyth out right as Poku leaving Adamson v exposed, bring on Chair and Kolli for Poku and Vale. I take your point but if we don’t roll the dice I think we get rolled over here |

Snorted appreciatively over the line about JCS taking one of his periodic sabbaticals. Think a lot depends for us on him being back at work |

Possibly. But you are among those (rightly) celebrating the constant mantra about standards. Yes we ideally sell Varane for a profit and that won’t happen in our reserves. But it wasn’t really happening last season when he was getting plenty of game time. Demanding higher standards will inevitably result in some casualties: Walsh bombed out, Kolli publicly dressed down for his fitness, Mbengue (just pre injury) dropped for Adamson. The better players, like Kone on Saturday, will take on board the criticism and bounce back. Ultimately competition for places tends to lead to improved league position and ultimately that should increase the value of a lot of our players.
Just one question on Kamara, who has been excellent IMHO: some say we have an option to buy but the official announcement from memory only referred to a loan? |
