The LFW Confession Box
at 20:55 28 Apr 2024

So now we are safe and looking forward to being able to enjoy not just the next game but a whole week in the lead up, time for a little fun.

Let’s open up the LFW Confession Box – Its time to admit whether you thought we would be safe, relegated or if you are L-Block thought we would be relegated by Christmas (Just kidding mate) – At what point did your opinions change etc throughout the season. I know there were many that dreaded this season even before it had started, and the first game didn’t nothing to settle that.

I’ll start the ball rolling. As many know, I was quite vocal at the start of the season and confess to jumping all over people who thought we were going to be relegated before the season had even started. Just before Gareth went, I was very nervous that I was going to have to eat my words because we were all over the place – 6 in a row and I decided I was wrong - League 1 was beckoning.
The game that turned my opinion and made me think we could do it, was the away win to Blackburn. We had been shocking in January and I don’t recall us ever winning up there despite supporting the Rrrr’s for almost 50 years. After that, we seemed to stop conceding from set pieces and defending better and apart from having a minor wobble after Easter was relatively sure we would survive.

So come on, cleanse your souls and lets hear your thoughts and emotions over the season and did your opinion on the outcome change.

Most Important Goal of the Season

My Chelski supporting boss watched the 10 QPR goals nominated for goal of the season and he picked Dozzell's goal - Not familiar with the way people here loath him

I am gonna guess legal reasons with everything that's going on.

Reporters are crafty and what do you say if a question about the court case is thrown at you in a live interview - Shame but he has showed class managing that with his performances

It was Chair

They asked Field and Begovic to give it to him. (They joked and said no chance)

It was a shame he never did the interview but perhaps he is not currently permitted to

It was only a few games ago that people were suggesting he gets dropped.

Often he tries to do too much but when it pays off it is special. I was disappointed as he got Sky MOM last night but didnt accept the award for whatever reason.

I dont care about the money on this, we need to keep him, Willock and Paal because they can be lethal when they link up well such as last night. Marti thinks very highly of the 3 of them for sure.

Massive loss if Chair goes

Sorry for the loss of a much loved pet I am sure - They play a huge part of the family

No different really but we currently have 6 cats but prior to this we had 5. All of them had to be PTS over the course of time and it is really hard. I make no bones about it I cried like a baby at several of those, especially with one who looked at me as if to say 'Thanks Dad for putting me out of this pain'

That was over 10 years ago and I still remember the look

Any family pet leaves a massive hole. I echo some of the comments on here, rescue is the way forward. Dont line the pockets of greedy breeders - But as has also been said, you will know when the time is right.

This was always our favourite poem that we have in their ashes boxes (copied and pasted I am afraid):

There’s something missing in my home,
I feel it day and night,
I know it will take time and strength
before things feel quite right.
But just for now, I need to mourn,
My heart — it needs to mend.
Though some may say, “It’s just a pet,”
I know I’ve lost a friend.
You’ve brought such laughter to my home,
and richness to my days.
A constant friend through joy or loss
with gentle, loving ways.
Companion, friend, and confidante,
A friend I won’t forget.
You’ll live forever in my heart,
My sweet, forever pet.

I have said for weeks that we will get revenge for 2010/11 and upset the Leeds promo party like they did to us.

So reverse of that score 2-1 Hoops

But as has been said, we could be safe regardless of the score without kicking a ball tomorrow so no need to panic just yet

New Kit Annoucment Due ??

If said betting company that are sponsoring us (and I am neither for or against) is stumping up enough money for us to be able to buy a new striker then how many here would still not want a betting company as a sponsor?

I think the new CEO is switched on enough to pick the best deal for the club - And when we are in the financial hole we are in now, beggars cannot be too choosy

London Marathon 2024
at 19:56 22 Apr 2024

Evening everyone

Mrs Superhoop completed the London Marathon yesterday in 5hrs 17 mins. Not the time she hoped for but she finished which is what counted. I cannot do photos on here (too stupid lol) so if you click on her link here there is a pic of her after she finished with her friend and training partner who started and finished with her. She saw several people from QPR runners (some of whom post here - Dixie)

https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/michelles-running-the-london-marath

I have copied a little message from her to everyone that donated (page is still open)

What a day… yesterday I completed my 1st London Marathon. I trained with Lesley and we started together and nearly finished together. I ran in memory of my mum, her strength kept me going throughout the day. I completed it in 5 hours 17 mins and 55 secs, 10 mins quicker than my Manchester marathon in 2019 so I am extremely happy with this.

Thank you to everyone who supported me. I raised over £3,700 for Ellenor Hospice and PussyCat Lodge Trust.

Next season - 4 key players for us to keep
at 19:46 22 Apr 2024

What makes me chuckle here is start of every season we have a clamouring for a good defender and a good striker.

We have the defender and now we want to sell him.

We need to keep the solid players we have, and add some good youngsters around them. If we sell off all our family silver we will be looking over our shoulder again next season.

I think Marti will know what he needs/wants and will do the necessary required. Lets be fair he had a good January so let him get on with it.
