Absolutely agree with your comments on Dobson. It's so refreshing to hear someone from the club talk about our players as people, mostly young people. Instead of just names and positions on a line-up card framed by clichés.

QPR continue to state intent, adding Gray to attack - Signing
at 02:46:40

Very well put, however I wince at context-free statements from twenty years ago being used as "Scarlet Letters."

Twitter is unforgiving, it's relentless, it doesn’t check facts or provide context. Like those who condemned Hester Prynne the internet keeps track of past deeds, ensuring that no error, no mistake, no mis-spoken sentence or clumsy metaphor is ever lost. It’s not that everybody’s famous for 15 minutes. It’s that everybody gets damned for 15 seconds.” And if you have the misfortune to have the worst 15 seconds of your life shared with the world, there is nothing to guarantee that anybody will weigh that single, badly worded comment against all the other things you have done in your career.

Secondly, even if Gray really was an intolerant, prejudiced, bastard twenty years ago, doesn't he — doesn't everyone — deserve the opportunity to make it right? Shouldn't forgiveness be something that's always on offer? I think I read that in a book somewhere once.

The end of the beginning — Report

"It’s a Disney+ bromance begging for a second season commission. Fox Searchlight, in association with Arte and Screen Australia, presents… Lyndon and Charlie. She’s a carefree Australian fresh off the beach, he’s a grizzled old racehorse owner who’s forgotten more than you’ll ever know, but will the Championship make or break this unlikely union? Yes please, take my subscription fee, see how I binge the living shit out of that. "

Love it, just love it. Thanks for a season's full of moments like that.

I appreciate the inclusion of Mark Hughes was a joke, but really it just lowers the tone of the entire piece.

It struck me that football fans in this country live in a permanent state of moany frustration, never realising how good they’ve got it in the relatively good times, nor acknowledging how much better off they are than so many others

True. But this isn't limited to English Prem football followers. It can said about the combined populations of every single OECD country in world on just about anything or anybody at present.

End of Term Report 18/19 — Midfielders

"We’ve lost Alex Smithies, James Perch, Nedum Onuoha, Jack Robinson, Joel Lynch, Jake Bidwell, Pawel Wszolek, Jordan Cousins, Geoff Cameron, Jamie Mackie, Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells from our team over the last two years."

You forgot Alex Baptiste. Everyone always forgets Alex Baptiste!

Good stuff, though for me Scowen's C/D rating is a tad harsh. When he was good, (not often enough I'll grant) he was very good.

Wycombe were recently been identified* as "serial 'game managers' who I recently saw start their time wasting routine only two minutes into the match." Can't vouch for the objectivity of the quote but maybe worth consideration before we go all in on Ainsworth as our next sacrificial goat.

Don't you think that hiring assistants from lower divisions was an acknowledgment on Mclaren's part that he wasn't familiar with the players or type. of game at this level? Whether it's been successful or not is debatable of course, but it doesn't seem to be something he's ignored
