Sorry for the slow reply. For some reason I couldn’t log on, but now I’ve managed to get on with my phone.
Last year their merged with Rising Ballers Kensington, and so competed under that name for the 25/26 season.
Best season they will be back to being called Shepherds Bush FC |

Fun but irrelevant fact: The original Shepherd’s Bush FC played at Loftus Road from 1904 until disbanding in 1915. They were a successful team, once beating Athletic Club de Bilbao in Bilbao. They folded due to World War One, but the bigger problem was that they were committed amateurs, rejecting calls to turn professional despite increasing competition from neighbouring clubs including one called Queens Park Rangers, who themselves went on to achieve an unprecedented 11 lower/mid-table finishes in the second tier of English football in the years 2015-2026.
SBFC is an extraordinary community football club. As well as winning trophies (SBFC won the Middlesex Intermediate Cup and has had two promotions, from Step 8 to Step 6), it really supports its players.
SBFC was (re-)founded in 2021 by an amazing chap called Aaron Morgan. SBFC costs Aaron about £20k per year. He can’t keep funding this out of his own pocket.
I met Aaron when our kids were playing on the same team. I’m no football expert, but Aaron strikes me as a football savant. After any match, he can give a wonderfully perceptive analysis of each player’s performance. For my son (who, as an interested dad, I’ve been watching super closely) he articulates things I’ve seen but not been able to verbalise. The fact he can do this for every player - in such detail, with such insight - strikes me as extraordinary.
But what really sets Aaron apart is his heart.
Aaron sees SBFC as a home for talent that the world has often written off: a haven from ‘the madness of the streets’. SBFC have got players on heart monitors from snus abuse (I had to look this up). They’ve got players on probation or other legal restrictions, often for reasons rooted in their environment.
Aaron can’t keep funding SBFC forever. I don’t think he should have to. There must be local businesses or charities who can get behind Aaron’s mission to support local footballing talent.

This forum knows more about football and more about Shepherd’s Bush than I do, so all ideas welcome. Suggestions of people or organisations to chat to - or anything else - would be much appreciated. I sing it out loud when I'm cycling to work!
This is probably horrific to anyone who catches a bit of my song. I am so unmusical that I had to mime when I was in the choir at school.
I thought that was bad until my son sweetly asked me the other day why I don't chant in time with the other fans... i'm so unrhythmic and untuneful that I can't even chant properly! |

On the way home my 15-year-old son was saying 'seriously dad, i think this is the happiest moment of my life. I don't think I've ever been happier'.

My understanding is that in the PL Cup you can field five over age players.
Does that meant Brentford could play Mbuemo, Wissa, Damsgard etc, or is there a limit on who the over age players are?
If they can, do you think they would? Would the risk of injury outweigh the allure of silverware? Or would it be considered not sporting?

I'm a big fan of Lower Paddock.
* Unobstructed view (no pillars)
* In the middle of the pitch (I struggle to see from the ends)
* Kids sometimes get a chance to get a selfie with the players at the end (as the players go past the paddocks to go in the tunnel)
And, they are the cheapest tickets in the ground!
There is one catch... There is no roof, so if it rains you and your whole family get wet. |

I loved both of Celar's finishes, especially the chip... but I'm voting for Kolli as he made his goals out of less. Great to see a QPR striker seizing half chances, rather than spaffing sitters. |

In fact the bloke sitting next to me spent the entire match playing sudoku on his phone.

We lost our baby daughter 15 years ago and it still casts a long shadow
I recently discovered Nick Cave’s writing on this (especially Ghosteen and Red Hand Letters) and I agree he Is exceptional. i don’t think I’d have known what spiritual grace means previously, but something like that shines through.

in addition, its the attackers who benefit from chaos. Getting more players up the pitch helps the defence by my making the penalty box less chaotic and more orderly. |

I took my 9-year-old to Blackburn a couple of years ago and we had a great day out! Highly recommended.
Mostly you can avoid the aggression and kids love the choice language.
It seems that some kids really enjoy the energy of a football match, and others don't take to it so much, so best if you go with low expectations, lots of sweets and a phone in case they really get bored. |

I think normally it is only on for 3 o’clock kickoff, but maybe 515 is close enough?
