No way will they take a draw. They will be at us from the off. Fearful for next weekend. |

No should about it. If it goes that way neither one can catch us. It won't though. We are QPR. We are cursed. Brum will beat Udders and Weds will at least draw with West Brom. Millwall will let Argyle tickle their tums and the Cov hangover from that utter travesty yesterday will let Blackburn find something. Then it'll need us to get something from Cov. or else Brum will nick a draw at Naarch and that will be that. Unlikely, but as I say we are QPR; it is what we do... |

How long did ITV leave their image up? Looked on from the first image; even with the lines on it was touch and go. Should be forensically looking at that rather than just glossing over it. ManUre will win this on pens, won't they? The FA and the top 6 make me COME ON COV! |
| Forum Reply | Shock as Gavin Ward doesn't have a terrible game at 10:10 21 Apr 2024
His weakness is EXACTLY what Watford says in this posts. He likes to "let the game flow" by letting lots of stuff go unpunished and is very lenient early on. Then he starts clamping down and gives a nonsense booking or two leading to confusion on what he will and won't tolerate. We won, so his performance matters less to us, but he was very poor as per. Aside from the handballs (the one in their pen area and the blatant ones by Willock and Anderson that went unpunished) can anyone tell me why Dykes was booked and Storey stayed on the pitch? Inconsistently inconsistent THE biggest crime of a referee if you assume that they are not cheating... [Post edited 21 Apr 12:44]

Wow, in the league with parachute payments giving them a budget advantage of c. £80m and just TWO points? That'll be 98 they get, not 100 then. Is everyone bar the top 6 going to get caught in some way then? Or will it work out exactly as I think, which is all the small teams squawk so much that the leagues change the rules just in time to avoid having to deal with Chels** or City? It is so predictable, it's laughable... |

Balls to the lot of you. For all of these flaws you all point out (many of which are valid to be fair), we are waaaaaaaaaay worse without him. He might be having a shocker, but he never hides. Look at Tuesday - he was utterly spent after about 55 minutes (fasting does that to you) and yet he kept going and going until he literally collapsed through exhaustion. Yes, it was far from his best game, but he continually showed for the ball as he always does, never hid and yes even if the stats say that he did not win one tackle, he tracked back just fine. Oh, did I say he had fasted to? If we HAVE to sell and we get a reasonable offer in, I'm with most of you that we have to take it, but if we can balance the books with a JCS sale (who I still think is the BEST footballer at the club), do that instead. If the worst happens and he has to do a stint over the summer and the club stands by him, I can see him signing an extension and staying with us - for one, I'd be absolutely delighted if he went all Alan McDonald on us and stayed with us through the majority of his career (although I'd be surprised to see him playing in goal against Rangers late on his career like the great man did...). Willock is going; we have no idea whether Anderson is contracted past this summer, which means that Chair will be our only proper 10. Flawed. Yep, but ours, generally available and always really willing. You will ALL miss him when he eventually goes. Trust me, you will. |

Gonna give this one a miss - all four done over the school Easter Holidays; need to earn brownie points at home... |

Yes, if we weren't so invested, a lot of what we see would be funny, wouldn't it? Just watched the Extended "Highlights" on the Official Website. Begovic's reaction (and that of Cook) is quite something. There was no-one on him - ZERO pressure and he does that, then appears to have a go at Albert. Cook's look says it all. Honestly, the day he leaves is not a day too soon. |
| Forum Thread | Fox v JCS at 17:47 10 Apr 2024
I'm guessing that Marti has seen Fox training well and maybe thinks JCS needs a rest, so he put him in last night and I thought that he was one of the better players on the pitch - well done Morgan. But, what now? To me, JCS is borderline PoTS and is clearly the better player and should NOT be rested again on Saturday irrespective of how well Foxy did. But, what about putting Fox at left back for the Hull game? Paal was, again, ineffective last night - technically good, but a bloomin' liability and simply not creative going forward. So, I'd go for the four CBs v Hull - thoughts? |
| Forum Reply | Begovic at 17:39 10 Apr 2024
Yep, I was there last night and have just got home. Great post match late night curry and few beers with my lad, but still fuming about Asmir's Amateur Hour. Even on the way back, we popped into Saltram House (a National Trust place) and one of the guides there was part of the Green Army who went last night. When we got on to Ainsworth, I said that the one thing I thought we'd be at set pieces and we weren't even that and were still crap. He pointed out that Plymouth had not scored from a corner all season and their lads were laughing that they still hadn't, because QPR did it for them. I was towards the back last night; if I had been further forward he'd have heard me too - absolutely ruined the night away. Its not just the flapping; even when he gets an "accurate" kick up top, it either goes to Chair or Anderson instead of Dykes or Dunne. It is not that tough to kick left or right instead of straight down the middle every time. And he is so bloody casual some times - hence the charged down kick in the first half. Not sure this confirms your hypothesis, but you can add me to the list of "hysterics" who were actually there last night. |
| Forum Reply | So frustrating. at 08:16 10 Apr 2024
So frustrating is spot on. The game was two awful Championship teams going at it. We were by far the least worst team, but as per usual, we missed three clear cut chances - two from Smyth, one from Chair and a number of unclear chances mainly involving our "striker" who despite improvement, looked as much a striker as I have ever. Hayden was given the ball away for fun in a poor display and don't get me started on Paal, who was, yet again, a waste of space. BUT then we scored and our fans started to sing "A win away". It all felt good until our captain and 'keeper stayed motionless on his goal line when a corner was sent over only to wake up in time to flap at the ball hitting it straight on to his fellow OAP in the team to score their equaliser for them. We were safe tonight, but no, our "captain" did not want that, did he? Wonder if he will apologise... |

In the cold light of morning after his latest disaster class, I can say that I cannot wait for Asnir, the busted flush to fck right off. Yes, Smyth and Chair should have put them out of sight before that, but context people. We were five minutes away from booking happy summer holidays knowing that we'd be preparing for another season at this level. He is a vastly experienced well renowned 'keeper and that was shockingly amateur. He NEVER catches crosses and never actually appears to leave his line from corners. He is a massive part of our weakness from set pieces and yesterday confirmed what we have seen unfolding before our eyes in the last three months - he is passed it and needs to retire. Yes, there have been times under Ainsworth where he keeps us in games, but he is now actively costing us and can't kick either. |

Here with the lad. Been up the local lighthouse, walked round the city, played some Interactive Darts over a couple of pints scoring my second ever 180; back at the hotel trying to chill. The calm before the storm. PLEASE Rangers, DO NOT FCK THIS UP! |

WOW. That is 50 minutes I'm not getting back. Much worse than Brum and Swansea. If this lot had anything about them we'd be well behind. Begovic kicking it down in to the Land of the Giants and looking really puzzled when it comes back. Every. F**king. Time. How dumb is he? Play it wide in the air and guess what, Jimmy wins it. Armstrong so isolated, its shocking. Looks like Marti has set us up to defend a 0-0. Keeping it tight for 60, hoping to pick them off when the game opens up when they have to go for the win. Has a 1-0 defeat all over it right now. Poor and very disappointing after the spirit of the last two games. The bench looks pretty poor as well today... |
| Forum Reply | JCS transfer talk at 11:04 6 Apr 2024
...and that is the point. He has been fantastic this season and whilst I suspect a lot of you are leaning to Cook as PoTS, it's JCS all day long for me. THE best footballer at the club, bar none. Good in the air, a great reader of the game, calm, rarely makes errors, committed (this season anyway), tough in the tackle, a bit of a nasty streak at times and really good at breaking lines with his passing. BUT, he could tweak that calf again and be out for half a season and then what would anyone pay for him? £5m+ - thanks, Jake, you've been great, but we REALLY need to start making profits on players again... |

It is HOT here. Rain cloud just coming over. Not sure we have much goal threat on the pitch; I guess this will be contain them early and go for it later on. 1-0, 0-0 or 0-1 incoming I think... |
| Forum Reply | We Just Dont Get Enough From Our Strikers at 22:57 31 Mar 2024
I've not really been paying attention to who has scored this season, I just know that our top scorer has a pathetically low total. Also, as a team, we've scored 38 League Goals in 39 games - poor by any standard, but then we absolutely knew this would be the case at the start of the season, didn't we? I am shocked that we totalled more than 30 to be fair; I could not see where the goals were coming from back in August. They say that rarely does someone get a 20 goal season out of the blue and you know who is going to score and who isn't at the start of the season and we had no-one who was going to bag many. The stats say: 1 Ilias Chair 5g 6a 2 Lyndon Dykes 5g 1a 3 Sinclair Armstrong 4g 3a 3 Chris Willock 4g 3a 5 Kenneth Paal 4g 1a 6 Jack Colback 3g 1a 6 Paul Smyth 3g 1a 8 Sam Field 2g 3a 9 Andre Dozzell 2g 1a 11 Joe Hodge 1g 0a 11 Michael Frey 1g 0a 11 Jimmy Dunne 1g 0a 11 Jake Clarke-Salter 1g 0a 11 Steve Cook 1g 0a Pretty darn poor all around. You should expect 30-35 goals from your strikers and attacking midfielders (we have 22); 15 from your midfielders (we have 8) and 10 from your defenders (we have 7). But as I say, MUCH better than I thought it would be and we have shored up the defence somewhat... |
| Forum Reply | Marti Cifuentes at 21:17 31 Mar 2024
I think that was what I was trying to say, but you said it better! It's not black or white, is it. Did Rowett and Brum "win" the "tactical battle"? Obviously not - they lost 2-1. But their creative midfielders did pick up the ball a few times in midfield with our CMs nowhere near them. Was that part of the "plan" - dunno, doubt it. Did they hurt us - nope, maybe 'cos Marti had us in a shape that my untrained eye could not see. But could they have? Maybe. I'll try not to criticise any performance too much as it is night and day compared to what went before. Also, as Clive says in the report, he's done this with strikers who simply do not score and a goalkeeper who has aged before our eyes in the last six months. Absolutely nothing short of a miracle. At the end of the day, we win more than we lose at the moment and no longer get smacked around in a men v boys situation. I'll take that all day long. |
