I completely agree.
I wasnât very clear in my first post. When I said the âmodern music industryâ I was thinking of from the fifties or sixties until now. I do think itâs got worse, but I agree it has been happening for ages.
So my examples of Agadoo and Cotton Eye Joe were maybe a bit confusing to my point, because they are pretty old. I meant they are both songs that did very well in the charts (Agadoo got to number two, cotton eye Joe was number one), I think we can all agree that they are absolute garbage, yet they will be stuck in your ear for days after you have the misfortune of listening to them. |

I think this is the root of all that is evil when it comes to the modern music industry. I think a significant proportion of the population think that if something is catchy then it is good. And I think the music industry have caught onto this, and now aim to make an ear worm, rather than making something that is genuinely musically good. Ed bloody Sheeran is the best example of this.
As an experiment, go and listen to Agadoo, or Cotton Eye Joe, just once, and then see how long itâs stuck in your head. |

Does your boiler provide instant hot water, or do you have a cylinder to store the hot water? If itâs a cylinder you need the temperature to at least 60 degrees to kill any legionella bacteria that might be present in the standing water. |

I think my first four or five visits to Bramall lane finished 1-1. Richard Cresswell always used to score against us too. Annoyingly, after I realised this, on my next visit I failed to place the obvious bet at the bookies. It finished 1-1. First scorer, R. Cresswell. |

Itâs a funny old world sometimes. I have been thinking of starting this conversation for probably a couple of years now but never got around to it.
Finally a couple of days ago, I emailed Lee Hoos to suggest exactly the OPâs suggestion, that we donât have any goal music. And now I come on here and see the conversation has been started the very same day.
Anyway, I think it is naff and pretty embarrassing. Not pig bag itself, but any goal music. There is no opportunity for us to celebrate a goal naturally, spontaneously. I have barely reached the Sâs of my âYESSSSSSSâ and the goal music is being blasted at us. I am sure we will start singing it when we are ready, but let us have that ten seconds of pure joy and emotion first.
Imagine if Furlongâs winner against Oldham had been immediately greeted with goal music, trying to drown out that roar.
Lee Hoos was quick and thoughtful in his reply to my email. He suggested I come on to the forums to see what people think.

I think it just doesnât say the percentage if it was lower than 2%. But only the squares for Rangers finishing 1st or 2nd are not coloured in at all. |

If I am not mistaken, we didnât finish in the top two at all in any of the 10,000 simulations. They are the only two squares that are blank in the whole grid, so every other team finished in every position at least once in the simulations.
What I am getting at is that Opta actually does think it is a dead cert that we wonât get automatic promotion. So no matter how long the odds are being offered by the bookies, there is your value bet. đ¤ [Post edited 1 Aug 2023 7:05]

Being âavailableâ and actually getting an appearance arenât the same thing though are they. Those stats donât tell you how many times he was fit but just didnât get picked or was an unused sub. I think we might all agree he wasnât the most gifted player so it wasnât like he always played if fit. |

I always thought Danny Shittu was really fast. There were a few times when a striker went clean through and the opposing fans would get very excited. But I would just sit all calm and serene, safe in the knowledge that Danny would catch up. Unfortunately that wasnât true at the Millennium stadium though. |
