How come Colchester United are always in receipt of a disproportionate number of these bad decisions and apologies? Is it because our players don’t know how to fall when pushed? Is it because our fans abuse referees and assistants? WHY?! |

Sorted it....
After setting up your Tranmere Rovers Account (I suggest - declining all forms of contact except email!) you will receive an email confirming your TR account number.
Come OUT of the APP, and go in again now selecting <Log In>.
Use your TR account number (from email) and select <The Everclad Cowshed> which is the Away End. Select ticket. Pay using Apple Pay or Card.
I then received a ticket by email which I could then put into my I-Phones Apple Pay "wallet". |

Anybody got a clue?
I’m told these must be obtained from the Tranmere Rovers website, but there is no clarity about buying away end tickets. I’ve registered an account, but can’t see where to go next (other than home areas or hospitality).
CUSA no longer obtains away tickets for its travelling members, so the club(s) needs to offer better assistance, especially for fans that are not computer literate. I reckon I am, but am mystified by this Tranmere process.

My comment was intended to be a positive Wessex, and of course, “sea scouts” do their best, but sometimes it isn’t enough on such a solemn occasion. I guess demand for quality buglers exceeds able available performers, so employing a quality recording instead makes eminent sense. It was note perfect before Walsall, and reverently respected, when in recent years it has been cringeworthy embarrassing. The effort mentioned on Sky TV where the Last Post, Minutes Silence and what I thought was possibly a Minutes Applause all converged in a shambles to make room for advertisers was a disgrace.
The previous morning I had walked for 30 minutes around the City Centre trying to buy a poppy. To my surprise NONE of the retailers had any. I was only successful in Wetherspoons (other pubs were not open at 10:00am). No wonder the numbers wearing poppies have declined. I feel it important that the British Legion led act of remembrance continues, but I fear like so many other things generational related it is on the wane. Praise to Col U for restoring integrity to the ceremony. |

Both Jekyll and Hyde. I thought we were the better side bar three sloppy defensive errors. I can forgive goal three as we were chasing the game and had, by then, surrendered all defence in the hope of snatching a draw.
Shame Chiwombe isn’t 90 minutes match fit. He showed promise. Pity Bradley came on and just wandered around ineffectively with his hands on hips. Walsall defending was, at times, World class.
It’s a positive that they sacked the hapless sea-scout with the bugle. But was today a recording? However, the beat Remembrance ceremony in twenty years. At least we got one thing right. |

Trouble is we can’t “screw the cost of bringing one in”. Financial Fair Play Regulations mean we can’t pay more than our gate revenue justifies. We also have three existing number nines, and probably need to be rid of the wages of two to afford a replacement, but contracts (including loan) might prevent that. I fear we are stuck with the hapless Bradley and Chiwome. |

Top pub - Derby Tup - quite near to football ground.
Colchester Cavaliers Cricket Club used to annually tour Chesterfield, Darley Dale and Chatsworth House. I usually kept wicket, but have the shame of twice bowling a single ball on the lawn of Chatsworth House and twice seeing it soar for a match winning six into the river against the Duke’s XI. My aggregate tour figures hence being 0.2, 0, 0, 12. The consolation was Hospitality in the (private) Chatsworth House Staff Club was second to none.
Least memorable experience, the 2025 Chesterfield FC lights show comprising of the plain (white) floodlights flickering on and off. No pattern, no unison, no entertainment. The U’s performance offered nothing better. |

Col U have never played Chorley FC
However, U’s versus Worcester City was a regular fixture in the 1930s and 1940s in the Southern League but they have not met for 76 years. |

50 years ago I used to play county rugby at Sixways, now home to Worcester City FC. It then had similar facilities and ambience to Colchester RFC.
However, Sixways is now a magnificent stadium, originally developed for Premiership Worcester Warriors RFC that went bust in 2022, but now revived as an RFU Championship team. Worcester City got lucky and now play in what is arguably (IMHO) the best non-league ground in the country.

Well, the defence ensured the Grecians urned zip, nadda, zilch. Iandolo, Terry and Tucker were immense. Vast improvement compared to Newport.
Digby put in his best performance, Sesay continues to thrill, and there is not much to criticise except team shot accuracy. 18 shots, only 2 on target. Last season, MBick would probably have won this game for the U’s given the chances squandered by Bradley (albeit none easy). We didn’t miss the absence of Anderson and Payne.
To be fair, Exeter (IMHO) had the best organised defence that we have encountered in recent weeks, yet we encouragingly carved out chances. For once, late substitutions didn’t create panic and see us concede. Even the fans behaved after the disgrace in Wales. |

Horrible experience - worse than Bromley
280 U’s fans, only about 300 seats available. The drunken kids arrive late from the pub, and inevitably only seats in the front two rows are available. So they stand in the aisles and at the front of stairwells, obstructing the view of others that must sit on health grounds. Same thing happened at Bristol Rovers. Stewarding utterly useless. Newport should have opened the area behind the goal area for those wishing to stand.
At times things got very unpleasant and the kids language in front of many (very young) juniors was shameful. Young fans were even criticising septuagenarian fans that have supported the team for 50+ years for “not getting behind the team”, and for (example) not standing when the chant instructs you (e.g. ignoring disabilities and infirmities).
How can anybody consider bringing grandchildren into an atmosphere such as this? At home, I moved after twenty years in S2 to S5 because of deteriorating youth behaviour, and away ground experience must similarly embrace a “family area” and make proper provision for the elderly that must sit and whose medical conditions leaves them breathless if they become too vocal. Disabilities are not always obvious, but hate and spite are conspicuous.
Half time catering, one person in burger van to serve 280 - ridiculous queues. In the bar, the only pale ale was Neck Oil at £6.50 a pint. Chants desiring the death of Robbie Cowling and Andy Burnham, or declaring that the referee is a paedophile are patently hate crimes. Singing this nonsense in the High Street would produce an arrest, so why not in a football ground? Racist chants might have been eliminated, but have been replaced with a new level of disgust. I might cease travelling away if our idiot fans continue this embarrassment. Rant over. |

Worrying thing for me was Chiwome touched the ball only twice. Perhaps not his fault, as he got zero service from selfish colleagues that tried to beat too many defenders when a pass was warranted. Too often we consequently lost the ball and were then on the back-foot.
Vast improvement when Hunt and Payne came on. |
