Selfishly, I favour keeping the front 3 to 5 rows full seating. But you mention ‘retaining capacity’ ? Why, is there a move to reduce he capacity ? I’ve not heard of any need for that. And if not increasing it. So no increased income. So other than the possibility of a better atmosphere (I’m not convinced, performance on the pitch is more relevant IMO), I don’t see justification for the initial outlay. Oh, maybe legroom ? |

What does GO OUT mean ? Are they talking about the whole PU block ? ie. Front to Back rows ? They should leave some seating at the front IMO, maybe 5 rows for those that can’t stand comfortably for 2 hours. |

Certainly the last series out there and possibly the one before, there was alot of criticism about being under prepared and acclimatised. As I said, I hope you’re right. And with Wood’s hammy not being too bad and Hazelwood’s keeping him out of the 1st Test, Perth becomes massively important for England. Selfishly, I just want the series to still be in the balance by Melbourne. |

Our last Ashes win in Oz, 2010/11 (1-3), preparation was 3 matches prior to the 1st Test and another between the 2nd & 3rd Test, which resulted in 3 Tests wins by an innings. To play just a 3 day warm up match v our Reserves (basically), is like having an ice lolly ahead of an arctic expedition. Our bowling is frail, Wood is already struggling. I hope your right Dave and certainly the 1st Test will be vital. I'll be there for Adelaide & Melbourne and hope it'll be a cracking series with England victorious. Oh and I Really hope Root makes a Century or 5 |

We seem to have had a plethora of coaches over recent years. Surely the GK coach should be working with Nardi to improve him, to teach and encourage him to come off his line ? Is Nardi a better keeper now ? Not just GK’s, how many experienced players have we signed and actually improved during their time with us ? (Since Eze). eg. Bould is highly rated. Anyone think Dunne, Cook, Morrison have improved ? What about Field, Chair, Varane, Frey ? Surely we should see some of them improve, they haven’t all peaked, have they ? |

Many sites list the ‘Astrological Clock’ in the main square as a must see. It’s just about the most uninspiring ‘Top’ attraction I’ve seen. So many tourists linger below it in high expectation. Sit in the bar opposite for a pricey brew or two and watch the confusion and disappointment on their faces ! Otherwise, a great city. Enjoy. “All I want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague away kit”. Great HMHB song. |

Not sure I’d gamble on Bethell over Pope just yet. ATM Bethell is a decent ODI & T20 player, but he’s not a Test player yet, he’s inexperienced and his performance v India in the Summer was poor. 6 off 15, then 5 off 31 in 5th Test, looked nervy and uncomfortable, gave his wicket away both times. His bowling is not up to an Ashes series yet. Pope is experienced, has a proven record (1st innings at least) and a capable WK backup to Smith. An Ashes series in Oz is not the place to take too many risks. Bethell could be a rabbit in headlights out there. Bowling will be key, mostly keeping ours fit enough for 3+ Tests. Stokes, Wood, Archer fitness are of most concern. So is Atkinson. Our spin is weak, none compare to Lyon. McCullum & Stokes say this series is what we’ve been preparing for since the last Ashes (maybe longer ?), to drop Crawley seems unlikely. Him & Duckett have a good record together even if he’s often outscored. But if he and England fail, he should be wary of others replacing him in preparation for the next Ashes series. I’ll be there for Adelaide & Melbourne. Can’t wait. |

Oh ok. I misunderstood the brief ambiguous f/b post by the club which simply stated - “Rumarn 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗” Thanks for clarifying. |

Visited Chicago in 2019, loved it, great city. Stayed at Knockerbocker hotel, only 4 nights though. I would thoroughly recommend the Art Institute of Chicago, some very well known paintings by many Very well known artists. They do a Top 10 must sees if you only have an hour, but we spent longer. Public transport/Metro easy. Sports wise Soldier Field for NFL or Wrigley Field for a proper old school baseball stadium uptown. The River Walk is lovely. I liked The Bean too, Very shiney. We enjoyed drinks and the view at the Water Tower, great views over the Lake Michigan. For the Blues Brothers vibe, wander around The Link (I think it’s called) and go to Buddy Guy’s Legends bar for live music. Enjoy. |

3 point lead after day 1. I think Luke and would have taken that before the start. TBF, I don’t mind Thomas, he’s solid and only bigging up the crowd like we do at home. Cantlay is a thorn in our side though and we’ve yet to see the best of Sheffler & Spaun. I actually quite like Keegan, he’s solid probably should be playing if down to form. But hopefully, same again Tomorrow. [Post edited 28 Sep 10:42]

I was made redundant from FT employment at 54, took the Summer off then worked Part Time for 6 years whilst my Private pension pot continued to grow. I did 25 hours for a few years, then dropped to 20/week before giving up August ‘24. For those 6 years I delivered online groceries for a supermarket. Easy work (except Xmas), on your own most of the time and most customers were great. Felt quite community spirited as well. Pay is average, around £13.50/hour (outside London) and between the 6 or 7 companies, they are Always looking out for drivers. Worked well for me. |

Gordon Brown has much to answer for. And try telling all those Post Office people “If you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear !” |

Always thought we were stronger with him in the team and harder to beat. But his cards and injuries suggest we have better options now although probably on similar wages…..? |

How ? He’s on loan, which suggests Sheff Utd are paying half his wages. |
