here in Texas, most bars are busy day and night, theres always some sport on whether its baseball at lunchtime, NFL started last night, Ice Hockey and basketball start next month. even at a Chilis they were showing televised cornhole lol But they don't have the character the UK boozers have for sure. I went into the princess Victoria Uxbridge road last October, Thursday lunchtime and not a soul in there. so sad |

yeah it wasnt me mate. we sent a few messages when I was over but never met. 2022 was my last trip there, heard gun shots by my hotel and downtown was empty since covid. so since then I pick an away game (ravens) to goto and meet my more mates there... Cowboys played Ravens in Arlington TX Sept 2024 and thats how I met my now wife, then moved here to Fort Worth! funny how things work eh |

I watched a game with Mark (Charm_R) in 2022 in Fells point Bmore, he'll remember the place, Irish bar I think. a good place to watch. hoping to find some fans here in texas, need to send TexasRanger Mike a message actually. |

Pretty sure they would’ve had to wear that anyway, as England are the designated home team and would wear the White. I just think it’s a bit of kidology.
Here in Texas, I went to Buffalo wild wings one evening for a quick pint and it’s always empty. The car park was rammed, like it would be for a cowboys game. Turns out Argentina were playing I think maybe VS Jordan or someone. All the Yanks love Messi. However, as the tournament progressed, people are seeing what we are all seeing with the VAR/referees and majority of people seem to want England to win. feels weird. Met some expats here and I’ve been watching games with them. In the bar on Saturday, everyone else wanted Norway because the seem to love Haarland, which I get. It will be interesting to see what the atmosphere is like tomorrow in the bars. |

I find the whole tartan army stuff so tiresome. The Boston bars that closed early to spite england fans was just embarrassing. I said to my friends that went they should goto those bars and not tip! but of course they add on the 20% 'surcharge' such a shame. Saw a few downtown Fort Worth after the Brazil game (probably e-pats), tried to have some of their legendary banter but they weren't interested in talking. And the yanks going on about the redcoats etc when england played there, completely oblivious that Scots fought with english |

The Scottish fans did look like they were having a good time, I saw some videos of them going down that kids slide that was really dangerous, it made social media awhile ago when people were getting hurt going down it.
The Dutch and Japanese in Fort Worth yesterday were so much fun. I hope England fans can behave this week.
I actually really like that Adidas Scottish away shirt. Adidas have done an incredible job with their World Cup designs. Because my wife is part Mexican, I ended up buying all three of the Mexico shirts for the gym.
Hoping we can catch up for a beer this week? |

But what makes it odd is that FIFA are in bed with Trump. So surely anybody pretty much working for FIFA or representing them would be allowed in. So I just assumed it must be bad.. or else Infantino would’ve stepped in. Just my opinion. |

Look, I’m not defending it or anything. As somebody that is currently 90% through the Green card process, I know there are a lot of hoops to jump through, just to visit. Just reading reports now, not sure how true, but they’re now saying this referee has links to some terror organisation or something. I don’t know but it’s on the bbc news site |

Honestly, and I think I’m right, there isn’t a bad view in that stadium. I’ve only been in the lower bowl but when I took the stadium tour, we went up top. You won’t be disappointed. Let me know if you are around the Fort Worth area and I would love to meet you for a beer. |

They definitely sell kinder eggs. I saw them at Easter. Playing devils advocate, US does have strict rules and laws in terms of visas, if this referee failed those then why should they let him in? Maybe he had a criminal past or something, who knows.
I took a trip to downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas over the weekend, you wouldn’t know the World Cup was happening apart from a few posters and inflatable footballs. it was still a bit early mind. They have a fan park in downtown Dallas which is free but you need a ticket. Drinks food and parking is ridiculously expensive for it, plus it’s so hot as it’s outside. I’m just happy to be watching from bars.
Went and watched the Sweden team train yesterday, that was fun although they decided to train on the far side of the pitch away from the fans who are behind the goal. |

Sorry if a duplicate post, I’ve been away for 10 days haven’t had much time to scan LFW, took a quick look. There is a fantastic documentary on YouTube that has been highlighted on the BBC about some guys that just went to Mexico for the 1986 World Cup from the West Midlands, and pretty much stayed there. It’s superb and so funny. |
