The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2355512 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

Signing off for the week with this one... an old play out tune spun when the house lights were up many a time.

The long version was "kin long!"

Pop quiz trivia and useless info but Redanka got their name from the their local pub called The Red Anchor.

More trivia. No idea if true or not as I wasn't there but, allegedly, the reason 'ecstasy' was spelt 'extasy' on this record was because Shades of Rhythm weren't sure about the exact spelling and thought the record company would sort it out and so just put 'extasy' on the tape and were completely shocked when the record company actually printed the title like that on the record.

Whatever, but what is true is this is a 'kin monster of a House Choon;

Who else knew that this masterpiece was made by Phil and Paul Hartnol, two brothers from Sevenoaks in Kent. They made it in their bedroom when they were attending Wilderness School for Boys. They used to go to a Youth Club called Raileys in Sevenoaks.

I love this one. Jumps up a level when the proper bass kicks in a couple of mins in. Definitely the sound of 90s London.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I like this lot. They have a pretty distinctive big beat sound. Lots going on.

Thanks for reminding me of them.

Fantastic, clever album. Anyone who enjoyed the KLFs Chillout or D J Shadow or Aims output will love this.
