For those readers who might be worried about these things, I would just like to point out that whatever Kim Jong-Un is looking at in those pictures, it is not a thermonuclear (aka Hydrogen) bomb. It is much too small.

Not disputing that at all, as I wouldn't know what an H Bomb components would like.
What is concerning is the potential for error whilst playing brinkmanship, as NK are far more advanced than thought, and do have capabilities to strike cities like Chicago or Denver with Hiroshima size bombs, so long as they dont burn up on re-entry.
Let's hope we never find out.

If you drop the Davey Crocket US smallest nuclear bomb onto Stamford Bridge it only takes out a few blocks and leaves the hospital where Finneys mum is in the safe zone

captains fantastic

Is that thing right? Not knowing the first thing about it, I've always assumed the blast radius of these things is much greater than that indicates.

Depends on the nuke, no one these days though really has nukes above a megaton or two. If you take anything from the US nuclear arsenal they're all a "modest" 300-500 kiltons. The thing is though you can fit 12 of these things on a single missile which are all capable of being directly targeted. Using 12 bombs I've nuked all of London in the M25 with Reading and Luton thrown in for good measure. I find it all bizarrely fascinating in a terrifying macabre kind of way.

It looks like all the blobs are chasing the one on the left and the Luton one has been flung up into the air during the charge.

Gone are the good old days of multi megaton warheads where you compensated for CEP(circular error of probability) by sheer grunt.Warheads are incredibly accurate now so you only need modest yields for that instant and long lasting tan.
