Leistner - 5, tough day for him, he hasn't done much wrong but his marker's pure class.
Lynch - 5 being overrun when they come at him
Bidwell - 6 solid
Scowen - 8, some great tackling and positioning
Cousins - 5, sorry to say
Freeman - 9, brilliant defensive work and excellent going forward, unreal goal
Eze - 7, a return to form thankfully, lovely movement and excellent feet
Pawel - 5, some great work as ever but passing has been poor and he's lost Hutton twice.

We were sitting back too deep again at the start of the half, allowing them too much possession. Do that against Villa and they have the players to punish you for it. Fortunately since we conceded we've pushed up the pitch and not let them have such easy possession. Suddenly, we look the better side and they look very iffy at the back. Eze should have scored and we should be 2-1 up - got to take those chances when they come. Great goal by Freeman. |  | | |

Good assessment. It's hard to push up, though, when we have the pace issues at the back. We nearly had them at twenty minutes and 0-0, though there would have been a touch of fortune about it.
Either way, at 1-0 down the decision was taken out of our hands and we had to push up. The danger now is the ball over the top. | |
