Couldn't trap a bag of cement and was careless in possession. Never ever a centre-mid. He might have made a half decent RB if he's stayed in that position.

He wasn't that successful. Charlton went down and plenty of ropey players have made it into England youth teams. I refer you to Dean Parrett.
Also you sure he didn't play right back for the U21s?
Simple fact is he wasn't good enough on the ball the play centre mid at this level. |  |

He played CM for the vast majority.
On your logic Faurlin and Austin weren’t successful either, as we were relegated with both of them in our side.
That said, I can’t defend his time with us but I don’t think it defines him. He was MOM v us when they beat us 1-0 in 2014 (from CM) and I expect we probably signed him on his class display versus us at home (from CM). All of that was at this level.
