If we've lost 10-0, that's really, really bad. One wonders why bother with an under 18 team if all the decent prospects are gone already? Will we keep them on the books another 12 years with 6 loans each then release them? Just pick up discarded academy players instead, seems easier and there's tonnes of 'em. |  | | |

It's going to be a mixture.
You may pick up a kid at 8 and he goes all the way through (rare!) or we end up picking kids when discarded by other academies (Lumley, Eze, Chair, Masterson, etc.).
The key is going to be the success of the coaching team in making all the players better.
If we get 1 a year coming through to Championship level, we won't be doing badly.
Or you could go down the Chelsea route of hoovering up every known talent within 50 miles and discarding 99.5% at various ages. Expensive option that. |  |
