Planting pansies, seeing the jackpot winner has not been won again, and a Euro draw are suddenly more important that fundamental change in the Boardroom.
It's clear there's still more work to be done.
Bad smells don't disappear until the festering rubbish is fully flushed away

Club statement - New directors appointed on 12:54 - Jun 9 by James1980
It is back on the front page but not the main story.
I've re-read the article thinking that there may be some tweaks. Nothing stands out but I'm not sure if the last paragraph has been added can anyone remember?
"Other applications to join the board of directors have also been received and are in the process of being reviewed by the board. Further applications will also be welcome. "

It was on there originally.

You've hit the nail on the head. They want people with a spare £25,000 and expertise to apply to join. This should be the lead story until the fixtures come out, not relegated underneath random rubbish.
I'm going to call out all club bullshittery for evermore. There's some up there who need to look up the word "Honesty".
And "Truthfulness". They'll find it comes soon after Toxic.
This is something like the next statement I would WISH to see from the Dale.
“The new board have met and have agreed a playing budget for next season. The board feel this budget is as generous as it can be and is sufficient to push for automatic promotion back to league 1 next season.
The manager Brian Barry-Murphy has been working to rebuild the squad for next season and is pleased to announce that Eoghan O’Connell, Jimmy Keohane, Matthew Lund, Jay Lynch, Stephen Dooley and Matty Done have all accepted new one- or two-year contacts, some on reduced basic terms but with significant bonuses and pay increases if promotion is achieved.
Jim McNulty has also accepted a new role as player-coach and will work under Andrew Kelly to develop our successful academy further, bringing on the next batch of Dale youngsters.
Our two first-year scholars Brad Kelly and Peter Thomas have accepted their first professional contacts signing for the club for two years with an optional extra year. Congratulations Brad and Peter.
Of the remaining squad currently under contract none have expressed a desire to move on from the club and some are in negotiations for contract extensions.
Brian is seeking to further strengthen the squad looking to sign a central defender and full back. He then hopes to later bolster the squad in key positions with 2 to 4 loanees from higher up the football pyramid.
Further details regarding changes in the clubs board, governance and leadership will be made before the end of June.”

Bloody hell, I'd be doing somersaults if this was an official press release. We can only hope.

Excellent article that and thanks to Simon for being one of the ones to step up to the plate. Didn’t rule out the investor/owner route but acknowledged it should be put to the shareholders first which is all I think the fans ever wanted. The ones who tried to sneak it in through the back door should be ashamed of themselves imo.

24th May: "An observation from the publicly available filings that its arrogant to file the accounts at Companies House when they have not been approved by the shareholders.
It's even more arrogant to file something without that approval that is riddled with basic factual and presentation errors.
For instance: a) there is an error page showing from the accounting software used to check their accuracy b) Page 19 is missing c) On the Report of the Directors on Page 4 it says
"The directors shown have held office during the whole of the period from 1 June 2019 to the date of this report" (which is 17 May 2021)
It then proceeds to list Andrew Kilpatrick who resigned on 18 February 2021 and notes further down he resigned on 18 February 2021.
There are loads of errors.
The report is signed off by Mr Bottomley dated last Monday - so he has either not reviewed these full or has been severely let down by the people who have prepared them.
I suspect it is one for the shareholders to ask open why these mistakes are happening at the appropriate point of the AGM. "
We'd picked up there were loads of errors.
Worryingly, neither Mr Grindrod (a professionally qualified accountant) or Mr Bottomley (who signed off those accounts before shareholders opined) spotted those mistakes.
It does make you question the general level of confidence, in what is quite a simple set of accounts.

Any guesses/hopes for the fourth director? With GR leaving maybe someone like Ben Boothman should take his place. No doubt Ben is up to his eyes in it due to his recent successes, but he’d be a good shout IMO.

Is that the chap with The Flyer, Baum etc? If his company took over all catering including 'The Pies' that would be great.

It is. He’s a thoroughly decent chap too. He is a big rugby fan, not so sure about the Dale, even though his is up there every home game. His company deal with the catering, but only in the 1907 Lounge, I think.

Be definitely worth having someone like him on board.

I only know one of them and he's definitely a supporter who was there in Barrow and Parkin's days, maybe even earlier.
It might be just as well Cheltenham got promoted though...
Just caught your drift TVOS. This is the guy who did a streak for the cameras at the Cheltenham game in '99 yes ? Didn't he go on to be a soap actor in Brookside and Hollyoaks ?

Im NOT a Bottomley fan, but its not fair or reasonable to blame these errors on him or Nick Grindrod. As you have been on Companies House and read who has signed what, I am guessing you know a little bit about the documents and the processes which these documents will have followed...
Wyatt Morris Golland also signed the accounts in their role as Auditor ( you did not mention this), for which they are paid a reasonable sum of money. WMG will then have submitted the documents to Companies House. DB, NG and any other official could have seen the correct document only for WMG errors to enable incorrect documents to be submitted, seemingly for the club officials to "carry the can" publicly for the mistake
WMG have been the paid auditors of the accounts for many years, only loosing the business for a couple of years when they lost the job due to a comparable firm quoting better terms. I agree, these are simple errors which need addressing, perhaps this issue will spur on a review of the appointment of paid Auditors with a view to a change as well as other changes being pushed along at the club

Yes, that's right.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
