I do laugh at the England getting easy group comments I'm seeing on social media. They've earned it by being semi finalists and finalists in their last two major tournaments and cruising through qualifying (see Italy for a reference that this is not always guaranteed).
That earns you a top seeding and draw in a group with lower ranked teams. England haven't always been good enough to earn that seeding, at the moment they are. |
I guess the easy draw comments are due to the USA being the number 2 seeds in the group - it could have been a much tougher group if say Germany, The Netherlands, Croatia or Uruguay had been drawn into it |  |
