| Jack Robinson on 13:26 - Jan 4 with 1538 views | Dixie_CT | I don’t mind and atmosphere or people standing up for the club they support, just not in that way, just this way, little to the left, perfect…… who said the F word? Right, you’re no fan, out of order, grow up, why do you even bother coming to football? As I said, Jack Robinson, what a wonderful human being, who has behaved with nothing but complete respect and decorum. Can’t understand why the guy in the Paddocks don’t high give him for his part in their goal?!? Idiot | | | |

Nice complete misinterpretation of what I said.
| Jack Robinson on 14:06 - Jan 4 with 1433 views | Dixie_CT | Before we all go a bit Micheal Douglas in Falling Down, football is not a typical environment; it is a place of emotion where you can get away with acting a bit extra compared to work, home, and the street. If you can't go to football and vent at anything, the ref, St. Jack of Warrington, last-minute equalisers, Sky Sports, train strikes, lack of leg room, Sheff U fans goading you, then where can you? Or do you squish it all down until your eye pops out? | | | |

Its come up when a player gets sent off for reacting physically to a fan, is that acceptable, given the provocation or not is the question I guess.

| Jack Robinson on 18:51 - Jan 3 by Antti_Heinola | TV pictures showed some loudmouth screaming at him in the paddocks as he took a throw. Cringeworthy stuff from a grown adult. I'd almost forgotten he played for us. What use is all this hatred? Surely all it can engender is even more determination in a player? It's thick. |
I agree and put it in the same bracket as taunts like 'how sh1t must you be'. It regularly comes back to bite us as it did the other night.

Andy Cole playing for Burnley against us is the one that always comes to mind

| Jack Robinson on 13:45 - Jan 3 by NW5Hoop | There was one arsehole in the paddocks who was approaching Robinson whenever he was near the touchline and giving him pelters. That one fan wound up the whole Sheff U bench so much that several players and coaches were also screaming at the paddocks. I don't blame Robinson at all tbh. Don't like him, but if someone is screaming abuse to you from a foot away, you might well react. Also: he owed us no loyalty. We kept him on not out of kindheartedness and to help him get better, but because we had an interest in him getting better. If no one had thought he was a first-teamer, the club would have got rid at the earliest chance. Clubs don't show loyalty to players, careers are short. It's his life, not ours. It's his job, not a sentimental attachment. |
That's what creates a fortress, pity more fans don't do it ....intimidating the opposition should be compulsory...our fan base at times confuses me. [Post edited 5 Jan 2023 10:48]

one drunk bloke berating a player as he takes a throw, knowing the player can't respond in kind, 'creates a fortress'? If fans put that much effort into supporting our own team, maybe you'd be on to something. I like an intimidating atmosphere as much as the next fan - Chelsea in 2011 was astonishing and undoubtedly helped us win that game (just) - but that sort of thing is not really sustainable, and I wouldn't want every game like that. The atmosphere v Oldham, for example, had no poison at all apart from maybe some directed to Andrews (I think?) for some diving. But THAT was an atmosphere that can help create a fortress.

You mention the Chelsea game ..Rangers fans were given their players dogs abuse from the moment they turned up in their coach ....so I'm not sure what your point is. Maybe cardboard clappers is more your style ?

| Jack Robinson on 13:48 - Jan 5 with 711 views | Dixie_CT | I think us fans could do more to make Loftus Road a more difficult place to come and play. The majority of away fans are always up for it, big day out in London, close to the pitch, and an opportunity to get one over the Cockneys (we’re not cockneys mate) bar stewards. Or it’s a London Derby and we all know our recent record in those games. In A Block, we have Grandad as the only one generating an atmosphere. Not exactly Galatasaray away is it? More welcome to a warm and safe space than welcome to hell. [Post edited 5 Jan 2023 13:57]
