Alfie Lloyd 7.12 second goal on 10:12 - Feb 3 by nix

I've seen him play a couple of times for the youth team and I didn't think he really stood out (what do I know obvs!). Having said that it might be just what he needs to push on.

He didn’t stand out to me either in the games I’ve seen, but unlike several others who fall into the same category, I was left feeling he still had something.

The other context is that he was returning from a lengthy injury lay-off. 8 months. Happened immediately after we signed him. So he only returned back end of last season for a run of games and could of been struggling for form and fitness. I know they were working on his hold-up play, which was a weak part of his game. Although I believe that has since improved.

This year, he has really hit the ground running. Scored 7 goals in 11 games for the B team. And since moving to Eastleigh, he has hit 5 goals in 9. Looking forward to seeing him integrated into the first team set up next season.

The highlights reel from his time at Eastleigh looks impressive. He has an eye for goal with some clinical finishes and a desire to attack players in 1 v 1, and it seems he has strong physical attributes.

Lloyd turns 20 in April and has one year left on his current deal. I want to think he would be involved in the preseason. He could be ready for the first team then or it might be a case of if needs must. If he isn’t involved, then you would think six-twelve months at Legaue One or Two, will be the next steps for him.

He also looks to be performing better than when Sinclair Armstrong was out on loan. These two could be our strike force next season.

Good luck to him for the rest of his time at Eastleigh, keep banging them in.

Hold on, he's only got a year left on his current deal? That scares me. The board need to nail him down to a 3 year deal with all the usual caveats ASAP.

Or a four-year deal. and play him at left-back.

That would be my favoured option, then in say 18 months when he hasn't broken into the England team we could properly lay into Les, Lee and anyone else we fancy!

I didn't know that about his injury. Thanks JD interesting insight.

That would be great if this loan pushes him on.

Seems very grounded in the video interview.
He knows he’s not the finished article and seems prepared to work at his game.
National League level is not to be sniffed at, but it’s a fair way below where we need players to be.
Let’s hope he continues to progress and is pushing for a first team start next season.

It's encouraging to see him progressing but I wouldn't want to see him in the squad next season with Armstrong there. Would it be wise to have 2 young strikers in place?

Allen and Goddard?

Sure, if they're anywhere near as good.

There is nothing more QPR than ending your season strapped up in hospital after surgery. Hopefully its something he can recover from by pre-season but you never know. The comments seem to suggest he was popular and did well there anyway

More recently.
Taarabt scoredn in 1st minute at Barnsley and we hung on for the next 89. A bit like Burnley 2 weeks ago.

Didn't Weggers get a penalty 1 min into a game against the scum?

We scored it, and then they through everything at us, but we ended up winning 1-0.

zzzzzzzzzz
