Time wasting 14:48 - Jan 18 with 3255 viewscolinallcars

International FA are meeting in London as we speak, to consider the problem of time wasting ( we know it by another name of course ).
Among considerations are a stoppable clock independent of the ref, encouraging refs to be stronger ( good luck with that mate ), and particularly looking at goalkeepers' behaviour.
At least they are at long last taking this issue seriously.
Apparently Newcastle have become the PNE of the Prem.

Something has to be done about spoof head injuries an easy way of stopping momentum , maybe a mandatory temp sub , while an examination is carried out

Easy remedy ……… if you go down holding your head pretending, then have 5 mins on the sideline while being assessed to see if fit to carry on. Your team carries on without you 10 men , I would say it will stop 99% straight away.

It’s also done to break up play and take away momentum from the team chasing the game. The cheats will find ways of ruining the game, maybe by only feigning injury in a vital part of the field.
Adding on the correct time will help, but it won’t stop some teams from breaking up play as much as they can get away with.

Just allow the game to continue when physios are on the pitch. Watch how fast a lot of them get up if the game is going without them as they have their phantom injury tended to.

Am I right in thinking they already do this in rugby?
