Have just spent another £30 million to bring their January spending to around £160 million.

How are they allowed to spend so much when clubs like ours are hamstrung by the authorities?

The playing field in football is about as level as Mt. Everest.

100s of millions spent while they struggle to get ahead of Fulham and Brentford in the league.I think the best thing these so called elite clubs can do is F off and join that super league that was being set up a few years back.

Having covered a number of Argentina games at the World Cup, at no point did you feel you were watching a £105m-plus player.

The spending now from Chelsea is a staggering, eye-watering amount of money.

And from a Benfica point of view, the profit they’ve made on this player — they signed him for 10m euros [£8.8m] last summer and he’s only made 29 appearances and scored four goals since they signed him from River Plate - what an excellent bit of business.

Extraordinary.

I'm beginning to think their Yank believes he's bought an American Football franchise, and has panicked when he only saw 25 players in the squad.

When the Russian left he wiped all the debt so they are in a very strong position for FFP. can basically go mad for a few windows as long as they get in the champions league especially as they are spreading the transfer fees over multiple years

writing off debt doesn't improve your chances of staying within FFP rules, its the losses that you make in the first instance that determine that
