Absolutely bizarre interview in places, even if he acknowledges we lacked quality and bravery. Otherwise . . .

He's proud of the boys and their efforts.

We played some 'great stuff' at times.

Bamford is an 'honest guy'.

Seemed mainly to smile over the red card, though will try to appeal it.

Can't wait for Saturday and expecting a win!

Comes over generally as, to be honest, a bit mentally ill.

Has he lost the plot/his marbles?

Any faith the squad have in him will he draining away because he keeps saying the same nonsense and we just keep on losing. They’ll just be hearing all this, rolling their eyes, expecting to go out and lose the next game. Optimism is one thing, blind optimism is delusion.

Blackburn are in poor form too but as we all know they have been a bogey team for us over the last 20 odd years. Better QPR sides have struggled against them so Ainsworth should not underestimate them. Very easy to say we will win in pre game talk.

The great stuff at times bit he was talking about previous games, he did say we didn't use the ball well enough tonight

It happens so infrequently we could probably write down the actual times without too much thinking.

Fair play to anyone who can bring themselves to watch these

To be fair, I don't think the squad listen to these. He has a direct line to them in the dressing room and can (hopefully) air what he really thinks in there. His schtick has always been about protecting the players and taking the hit for them - there's nothing to say that his ridiculous over-optimism carries through behind closed doors.

'Comes over generally as, to be honest, a bit mentally ill'

Wrong on two accounts, SE.

Where do you get that diagnosis from ?

And do you think it's acceptable to comment as such with mental illness potentially being a killer ?

To the OP, you think Ainsworth is mentally ill because you don’t like what he says in interviews?

Get a grip.

Do you really think he says the same media-facing drivel to the team?

Last manager that does tell the media what he’s telling the team?… Critchley?

Im finding watching his post match interviews to be unbearably painful to watch.

Utter delusion of the highest order.

O, lighten up you lot!

I used to work in mental health, and, yes, I do think he looks like he's losing his marbles.
