I do not believe that this is the case whatsoever.......

You don’t believe that the quality of players around Chair has deteriorated over the past few years?

Surely we can all agree that Eze, Bright, Wells, Hugill, Manning etc is a stronger team than our current bunch.

It's one of those footballing lore things that your player misses out on Afcon and picks up an injury the next game. Did not look good sadly

No.....I do not agree with your first sentence in your original post - it is absolute rubbish basically. This is your sentence...He doesn’t trust most of his teammates because they’re sub standard.

Ok it’s an exaggeration to say he doesn’t trust most of his teammates because they’re sub standard but I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen him look up to see Kakay and decide not to pass the ball.

Anyway, my point stands that Chair’s shown he’s much more effective with better quality players around him like Eze and a fully fit Willock.

If you think that Chair doesn't pass to Kakay(or any other player) because he cant trust him then you are very far from being right.....it may happen where you played but not in professional football. It would not be totally acceptable.

Warburton had Wallace overlap Chair which meant Chair was not always cutting inside (which is predictable). Don't know why Marti doesn't get Paal or Lakarche to do that.

Was v frustrating last night that Cannon kept stopping at the halfway line and then passing in field, rather than overlapping past Willock - which Willock, increasingly frustrated, kept motioning for him to do.

Don't know if that's cannon preserving his fitness or under instruction or playing cautious because of the quality of the opposition or what.

I was thinking the same thing. Its why Chair is able to make opportunities to cross or shoot, or slide one through, because Paal or Larkeche have overlapped. either taking a man with them or getting in behind if they don't.

Why Cannon didn't offer that is frustrating, but might also be something to do with missing the third man to rotate the triangles as I find Dozzell also works very well in that rotating triangle with Paal and Chair, but noticeably Dixon Bonner, doesn't offer the same with Willock and Cannon, maybe those latter three don't have that understanding yet, or maybe they're not technically good enough as a three.

Whichever it is though, means Willock is left hanging a little, and looks frustrated with it.
