| Cardiff Airport on 15:41 - Nov 7 by Whiterockin | The grant is not to improve infrastructure. The grant is actually for attracting and growing aviation and aerospace businesses linked to the Airport. Like all Welsh Government funding/grants there are targets set that must be achieved to maintain the terms of the agreement. It often depends how rigidly these terms are adhered, failure can result in funding/grants being removed. The appeal by Bristol Airport has been official lodged with The Competition Appeal Tribunal with the substantive hearing is due on 9th February 2026 and should last two days. Everything should be clearer after that. |
Purpose: The money will be used for a ten-year growth plan, including: Upgrading the terminal building and other facilities. INFRASTRUCTURE Developing maintenance, cargo, and sustainable aviation facilities.INFRASTRUCTURE Macquarie the destroyers of the monopoly Thames Water object to completion. You could not make it up. It is clear where your loyalties are. Sad.

It is debating Max. I debate you just criticise me for some historic grudge or other . The question her is is the £205m going to see new facilities or just to create jobs. There is a danger when a Social Government is in charge they the focus is on "creating jobs" not creating value. The MS s report falls into this emphasis What does this mean.? "As per the strategy first outlined last summer, the subsidy package will provide Cardiff Airport with the financial resources necessary to create new jobs by focusing on aircraft Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO), air cargo, General Aviation and sustainable aviation technologies" British airways are investing in this field. Are they getting a low interest loan? The devil is in the detail It would be better to sell the airport . Getting it into profit is the best way to do this.. The Airport has just resurfaced the runway and improved the lighting system. There's ars on going improvements. [Post edited 8 Nov 17:45]

Blah, blah, blah take your preaching elsewhere and where you'll be told exactly the same as you're told here, your problem is that you are blind to the truth cause you've convinced yourself that are right all of the time. Goodnight.

| Cardiff Airport on 23:25 - Nov 8 with 1063 views | exiledinenglandjack | As a frequent flyer for work both European and long haul, I’m desperate to use it more often. I’ve recently moved closer to it, and from a selfish perspective even if they just persuaded KLM for another flight a day it would mean I could swap 70/80% of my flights from Birmingham/heathrow to it. Managed to completely avoid Bristol this year as the experience there has dropped considerably in my opinion. Qatar want a big one off payment to return, again selfishly this would work for me but I’d rather see us attract a low cost carrier with more European links before getting Qatar back | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Its a decent airport and one I prefer to travel from, but they need to up their game, we intended to go to Malta this last summer, but there are no flights from Cardiff to do so and I wasn't going through the drama of getting to Bristol with those dreaded tunnels and that bridge which always seems to have problems, so we went to Majorca.

Bully boys stick together and use crutches like flags for example. I have kept discipline and never once has a go at you the flagmen or Max individually. You are anonymous. I support SCFC, Wales the Senedd and the airport. Cymru am byth.

Consistency. You gave no valid claims against me. I have seen this before in that case the only complaint is. " You are so boring". Want to fly from CWL not Bristol. Bristol is far away and have unpleasant owners. I will pay more to fly from CWL in airfares and in local tax.

I would fly from Cardiff more often if they flew to the destinations I wanted to go at a time I wanted to fly and a price I was prepared to pay. What I object to is the apparent £205M the Senedd are giving as a grant. Hopefully if they don't improve this will be rescinded. That is unless the inquiry rule the subsidy illegal.

Totally agree although I use it it's shocking the amount of money the Sennedd are pumping into it, and no suprise why so many use Bristol for it's destinations

| Cardiff Airport on 16:20 - Nov 13 with 601 views | felixstowe_jack | Jet2 has just announced it is starting to fly from Gatwick from April. If only the Senedd had encouraged Jet2 to operate from Cardiff. If only Some of the annual subsidy had been used to offer discounted rates to the airlines to operate new routes from Cardiff. | |
