Communication 18:37 - Nov 8 with 1848 viewsHastings_Hoops

I appreciate that it’s been said before but I feel i need to join the echo chamber. It is absolutely essential that QPR provide some communication to the supporters around a number of matters, but injuries in particular.

Unfortunately I have bought a season ticket, but I now have no intention of attending any matches until things improve. I am sure that I am not alone and this could be extremely damaging financially to the club as this bleeds through to non-season ticket holders which it will inevitably.

If the club were able to communicate that we’d have a rally of first teamers at a certain point, I would feel less disengaged and more committed to bear with this short term situation. As it stands, I feel disengaged and frankly have no interest in the 4 hour round trip to watch 90 mins of slop that these wasters are serving up.

I appreciate that Nourry has his ideals as to how to run this club but he is demonstrating his inexperience and youthful arrogance with every passing day of silence.

My Dad ( god rest his soul ) used to travel from Hastings and that journey is a killer especially midweek games .

Nourry seems the type who would have people on forums and social media seeing how the fans are reacting so I'm hoping he will see the backlash and there will be a change of tact after the international break

Worse still, I commute into London five days a week as I am one of the owners of a firm of architects, engineers and surveyors which has more staff and turns over more than QPR, so I appreciate the importance of communication with my staff and my clients. The last thing I want is to waste a Saturday or Tuesday evening at Loftus road if the reward is so poor and the supporters are so undervalued.

Tuesday was a killer for me . Working in convent Garden all day and as I live in Watford, if I finish late there’s no point returning home .
Building sites as they are provide little or no washing facilities so it was a case of changing out of dusty clothes into something cleaner.
Get a fish and chip supper and sit in my van and kill an hour or two before kick off.
Then go and watch that abhorrent shit show .
Got back on the motorway to find the M1 shut and it sticks another 20 minutes on the journey.
Quick shower and straight to bed . Up again in Six hours.
It’s not worth it, is it?
Forgot to mention, I’m nearly 60 .
First world problems. I know.

Don't blame you at all for how you feel about attending games with as you rightly describe the slop we are being served up. Me and a mate drive down from Northampton for home games and invariably the poor state of the team and our abysmal home form really is testing our resolve, especially the midweek games like Tuesday. On the communication front it's all smoke and mirrors with this club, just don't know what to believe and what our strategy is, if we actually have one.

I’m 69 now and have been going to Loftus Road for nearly 62 years and an ST holder but after Tuesday night I am questioning how many players want to be here which is making me wonder do I want to travel a couple of hours there and back to watch this and I’ve seen some dross in my time plus being an oap on a limited income. Yes some will say I’m not a supporter through thick and thin but I’ve seen the good and the bad and as you get older some things like family and life become more important than watching this shite and listening to some man child giving me his know nothing about football opinion. Serioulsly thinking about jacking this whole thing in and just picking the odd game instead of a whole season.

'Communication let me down / And I'm left here', as Spandau Ballet once put it.

It's times like this I also think that there should be a 'pecking order' on forums like this one, starting with older fans like you, sir, who've been with the club for several decades, have watched the most QPR football or what now passes for such (or at least over the longest period) and whose opinions are therefore likely to be among the most seasoned, realistic, and worth listening to. Then down through the ranks till we get to the kids in the room, and finally Mr Nourry in his laptop-laden playpen, babbling algorithms like some idiot savant (but without the savant bit).

Poll: How many points will we take from our next 3 games (S'land H, M'bro H, Leeds A)?

The club's attitude toward us fans at this point in time is a disgrace.
Only a few years ago they were saying how appreciative they were of the majority of fans declining the offer of refunds on STs due to covid.
Now it seems we are little more than flunkies at the masters table.

Plenty more that can be said about lack of communication from the club, so given I’ve started; hold my coat as I’m going back in…

My daughter is quite a ‘baller and I emailed the club back in July to find out about when the girls’ team train and play as I was wondering if it was worth her trialing next summer. Nothing back. I followed up and still nothing back.

I appreciate U13/14’s girls football is not their priority but this lack of engagement is alarming and could be a clue as to why the club continues to miss out on local / fan based talent. I’m not suggesting my daughter is the next John Barnes, but QPR would do well to think on their past mistakes as a matter of principle.

Meanwhile, my daughter, at 12, is playing for an U14 team in the Sussex league and is enrolled in the Brighton pathway academy.

BHA are a fantastic club with a great set up. They offer free football sessions in most East and West Sussex towns for girls and boys. They then offer holiday clubs for selected kids and then look to bring a shortlist of kids into their pathway academy. Kitty has been blitzed with Brighton kits and training gear, photos, programmes and has played on the pitch at the Amex in a tournament. In September they gave us tickets to watch BHA v Ipswich as a well done for her hard work in training. It’s no wonder they are so strong and so we’ll set up - a club with a true identity. Her favourite women’s team is… BHA (shame on QPR).

Meanwhile, QPR can’t even be bothered to respond to a 4th generation QPR supporter! As a box to box midfielder, the QPR men might benefit from her - and btw, what would Chloe Kelly say?

I suspect not out of the goodness of their heart, by doing the right thing, but because of the good people of this board and elsewhere pointing out how ludicrous and damaging it was in the first place.

Yes - that goes without saying, but I’m not for bashing them for eventually doing the sensible thing.
