As other teams have only 5 games left I would estimate that 12 points would easily see us secure a place, and 10 could be enough for at least 7th. Due to the drop off in away form the 3 home games are crucial. Eastleigh and Fylde "should" be good opportunities with Hartlepool a bit tougher. If we don''t win all 3, we would need at least 3 points. Alty and Solihull won't be easy and is going to be tough if it comes down to Braintree away. Hopefully they won't have anything to play for
IMO I think we need to get 7 points at home and sneak an away win. To do that we cannot start by aiming not to lose. we need to go for wins in all 6 and hope for 3 wins + the odd draw. Recent form indicates we are not likely to do this.

Have Halifax FC been granted approval from the EFL that they will be allowed to be promoted? EFL current rules are it is okay for 2 sports clubs to share a ground but not 3 (Halifax FC, Halifax Panthers and Huddersfield Giants).
Gateshead FC received approval from the EFL on 7/3/25 that they would be allowed to join the EFL if promoted.

Given the unpredictability and state of the league I think that 9 points should see us qualify for the play offs. It is a lottery after that.
If we win our game in hand on Saturday the league will look a lot better especially if Altringham and Southend drop points. The encouragement of an early goal could change everything. Otherwise we need to target home games against Fylde and Hartlepool.
Hopefully Bird / East and Rodney will be fit for a few of these games and that the emergence of Corey Edwards can be sustained. The new keeper will also have more time to settle in with the defence.
Looking for the likes of Barlow, Hendo, Tarryn and Gilmour to step up to the mark for a last big push. I hope that there has been plenty of shooting and set piece training this week. | | | |

If we can get Bird back asap, use Rodney in a proper striker role, rather then wide and also stop the negative defensive attitude to games by our management team, and adopt a more aggressive style of football, then we can sneak into the playoffs. However it is down to McNulty, will he change his preferred style or not and that is the issue we are faced with.

For example, before Easter weekend last season, which was at the end of March, Halifax were in 7th place with 62 points from 39 games.

Exactly, with still a game in hand there shouldn't be a need to sneak, even now we should still easily finish in a play off place when you look at the fixtures. Altrincham away is a ideal fixture depending on the mindset of the manager and players, its a great opportunity to put a nail in the coffin of a rival for a play off place. They won't look at it like that though will they, they'll have the opposite approach to the game. We've beat Altrincham twice recently. Win the next two games and we're nearly there. You’re right, our away record hasn’t been good enough, especially since Christmas and especially against the lower placed teams. Nobody has said otherwise, but the fact Solihull beat us at home seven months ago still has no bearing on what they will do 19 days from now. They might win again, we might win, or it might be a draw.

Jim should learn from Hill 17/18 and BBM 18/19
