Well the other 2 starters alongside him have done nothing all game. Totally agree Widdel needs to be starting instead of either of thisec2 duds.

You do realise that Vipotnik is injured?

Strong second half, but still an inability to take chances apart from Idah's effort. I thought we did enough to win that, but I suppose we have to feel okay with an away point against a team who have been on a good run.

Yep. I'll take a point after a tough game in midweek too. The amount of simpletons who seem to think that we should have basically gone with the same team after running ourselves into the ground against Man City shouldn't really surprise me at this point, but somehow still does. Sheehan was always going to make changes. Charlton will be far unhappier with the result than we should be.

At least we weren’t as dire as the last away game at Southampton, & we needed something today with PNE coming up in the week. All in all, decent result, especially against a team managed by rat boy | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Remember last season when a lot of us really derided Vip's play? Are we not giving Idah some time to get adjusted? This is his first 90 min game, isn't it?

I read it was cos he was saving vip Shite I know Sheehan is picking the wrong teams Not looking after players as he should And is ultra negative Today , with loud support following stunning equaliser , Charlton on the rack , players energised , he brings in n Fulton to pass backwards and sideways , this to save a point rather than going for the throat His time is done or should be Widell was again dynamite but is a bit part player I won’t mention Key though and his appalling “ shot” at goal from four yards out Two points thrown away for me

Indeed. Some people don't care though. If they've got nothing to whine about they're like lost souls. Will never understand the mindset thankfully. I'm not convinced on Idah but I'm prepared to give the lad a chance. Others prefer not to.

Same was said about Weddell Sheehan is following a long line of coaches who are substandard for us Fans should not turn on each other but to n those who can control matters Fans should never be satisfied Great coaches never are There

Vipotnik and Idah are going to share striking duties and for me that’s right. One of them will invariably be on the pitch. You won’t often see a winger play ninety minutes either but nobody seems bothered about that. Six games in November and two games with their countries on the week ‘off’, then we’re into the Christmas period.

| Charlton Athletic v Swansea City : Match day thread on 17:46 - Nov 1 with 1428 views | jack247 | I was quite encouraged by that second half. Yes, there were mistakes and we looked like a team getting used to a new system. But we attacked as team and went through the middle as well as out wide. Centre backs joining attacks but their runs forward being covered. Charlton, who have a very good home record, were on the rack towards the end. I’ve criticised Sheehan lately, but credit to him today. And remember, players missing easy chances, particularly late on at 1-1 is very frustrating, but it’s infinitely better than players not getting chances, which is where we were not long ago. | | | |

Yes, good post to be fair. I was encouraged by our improved energy levels to get to balls that in the past we’d have shirked away from. We went up a notch in thst department today. I’m not going to get on Key’s back. The defenders closed the gap very quickly and he had to get the shot off quicker than he’d like. Frustrating but we can’t bash him for it. He’ll be playing that in his head all night probably. Thought we were good for the 3 points today but not losing is a very good second best.

Sorry, my fat fingers downvoted by accident. I totally agree in as much as I’d much rather be creating chances & missing them, than not creating anything at all, which has been the case a lot this season. Obviously it’s frustrating not to be taking chances, but you get my point

The other thing that was noticeable was we were winning second balls and busting a gut to get to loose balls first. A bit disjointed, but the intensity was there.

| Charlton Athletic v Swansea City : Match day thread on 18:49 - Nov 1 with 1113 views | Fireboy2 | I see that the chief negative doom monger has got a friend. Fcuk I just cannot believe the negative bile that these two have posted. Just on the train back to wigan One mistake by our defence gave them an undeserved goal, they never looked like scoring whilst with a bit of luck and composure we would have won by at least 2. As has been mentioned by a sage on here we attacked both through the middle and on both wings. I cannot believe that charlton are 8th, they are a below average championship side punching above whilst we arent far off a top 6 side. To the person who decided fultons appearance, he was the only midfielder left on the bench to replace the injured franco, who is must say was immense today along with galbraith, they won alot of second balls which set us up nicely. I am not hoping for much against a good PNE team, Id take a draw now. A message to perch, OAPs £1 pay on the door, only 45 miles and an hour in car but I will platt fog if you turn up, you would rather watch us on the box, criticising. | | | |

Agreed. I wasn’t quite sold at half time then we conceded in the first minute of the second half and I thought they’d hold us at arms length. Nathan Jones is pretty good at organised, defensive football. But we took over from then. Half chances and through balls that don’t quite drop are the sort of things that improve with familiarity. We outplayed them and it seemed to me at least, we out fought them, which we don’t always see. Like I said earlier, I thought Sheehan was running out of ideas, but we were by far the better team in the second half.
