Saw FootballMartin suggesting this one

I like FootballMartin but can’t agree with this one.

Solskjaer always looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Not for me.

I would be happy with OGS. Didn't he win 10 in a row, when he took over at Man U in his first 10 games? He has lots of managerial experience, managing big egos and top players and he was a great striker as a player. A highly experienced man, who could do a good job in the championship with something to prove I think but highly doubt this would ever happen.

I picked up on this a fe days ago and added it to another thread. Would it be a good one?

We could do with him up front.

It would actually be nice to hear something from the Southampton board itself as it has been a deafening silence since they sacked Still. As a fan/supporter (and I know that is all I am) I have no idea what SR plans are for the future. I would have thought by now there would be some form of communication/update. Are they actively looking? Is anyone in scope? Are they waiting to see what transpires under our interim manager?

I am not stupid enough not to know that if they are in negotiation etc with someone they cannot say anything - I get that, but I have so little faith in SR. I get the impression that they are happy to just drift along, save a few quid and hope for the best until the end of the season.

They’ll just continue as they are with TONDA until we lose a couple of games and then they’ll appoint someone from Bundesliga 2 on the cheap.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

If Tonda doesn't work out, I'd be happy with Solskjaer.

The communication between the club and its fans it has to be said is poor.
They must remember without its fans there is no club.

I think you're right.
SR know that it is unlikely that we will get promoted this season so they are happy to muddle on thru this season & assess the situation then.
If that the case then the cheapest option for them is to stick with Tonda.
If they brought a new coach now they would probably have to sack him at end of season incurring another costly contract cost.

The more charitable interpretation is that they've finally learned a bit of humility.

Not appointing another left field loser straight away and also sticking with a guy that's actually winning games, suggests to me that they are being very pragmatic for the first time in a long time and recognising that all their previous decisions and 'plans' have been comical.

Having got it so wrong so many times recently I really don't mind if they want to take stock a little, recognise that they kept making the same mistakes, and try to work out a more sensible approach to finding long term success.

He’s won two on the bounce so Sport Republic hope it continues Saturday and Tuesday so he can be appointed permanently.

That’s the bottom line.

If he wins those two and makes is four on the bounce, then he probably should be.

I think we could do a lot worse than Solskjaer. Has good experience, played the game at a high level and would have the respect of our bunch of prima donna players. He generally has a good win ratio although he struggled at Cardiff but they were clearly not good enough in the Premier league. My only concern is that he might be another who opts to play three centre backs.
