Sheehan gets the sack for being shite, because he couldn’t work out his best starting 11. He would constantly drop vipotnik and widell to the bench because of ‘rotation’ Our two best players.!!! Then get this, our interim manager for today drops our two best players to the bench. For the island that produced the likes of Newton, Shakespeare, Hawkins, the mind boggles, it really does boggle.

Ok I’ll rephrase it. Let’s all leave our TOP GOALSCORER on the bench. Oh hello, I’m the new interim manager, maybe here for one game, maybe two, who knows. We need results and I recognise that, because I’m the interim manager, I’m not interested in performances I’m interested in winning, because I’m the interim manager, oh I know let’s leave our TOP GOALSCORER on the bench. Penny dropped yet?

You have to work on your own strengths first and weakness and then adapt to who you are playing. And not other way round. Im no expert but why would you leave an in form player on the bench in VP and not bring on Widell instead of Fulton. We had nothing to protect yesterday and experience was not going to do anything. What I would like is to see Yalcouye, Widell and Galbraith together. Stamenic I like but playing him as a Fulton role I don't think works

I don't get all the hate for Idah. The ridiculous rumour of the transfer fee which isn't true has clouded this signing. Yes we was poor yesterday but he moved well and could of gotten at least 2 yesterday. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

And most of his chances came from him creating them. The team isn't exsactly proving much service. [Post edited 23 Nov 19:56]

How many of Piroes goals did he create for himself, the same with Vipotnik. It's often what good forwards do.

Debate all day about it. Different players bring different things. I get your point, but some players need service more than others. McBurnie was a player who thrived on being in the right place to tap it in with good service and not a player who would shoot from distance.

Idah isn’t a natural centre forward,Zan is , Idah is better as a second forward , I think that’s how he played at Norwich ,he looks better playing that way

Yes, after a slow start, he’s definitely grown on me too. He’s a better all round player than Vipotnik, but Vipotnik scores from distance and angles. It’s a difficult decision for a manager. I’d say, if we play as we have been up until now, Vipotnik is the better bet as he can score out of nowhere. They’ll both get plenty of starts IMO

Yep. Vipotnik is a better player than Idah in basically every regard. Finishing, hold up play, passing, movement off the ball. That's not to say that I don't think Idah could become a fine acquisition and he has shown good stuff in patches, but they're miles apart at present.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Shooting by a million miles. The other three are very much up for debate. Idah did start slowly, but I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves.

Vipotnik by far our best striker - Widdell just has not had a fair crack of the whip. When I’ve seen him he definitely offers something different- directness and physical strength for starters. I hope Matos isnt one to pick Cullen at 10 again unless replacing a tiring Widdell.

Widdell is dynamic Fulton started instead We have deep issues and are in free fall

While fulton starting wouldn’t have been my choice he was far from our biggest problem this evening. He had a decent shift but all the money spent on midfielders should mean he should be lucky to make the squad without injuries Not sure what’s happened to stamenic, Galbraith took on 2 roles once he came on just to try and keep the ball going forward. Couple of positives in terms of tempo this evening inthe first half but very worried how quickly we reverted to type and how easy we are to play against when we try and go forward
| This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you." |

I agree but her should not start. My opinion.Did he pass a ball forward ? Stamemic can do better. he didnt last night Cullen ....?really fans who like players for whatever reason will defend them no matter what

And supporters who dislike a player will criticise them no matter what. Sometimes you have to look at the overall picture and why they are asked to do what they do. The massive question for me after last night is. Why we started with ony two of the (10?) new signings. I would imagine Leon, Joe and KOL had a massive say in selection due to Matos not knowing the players well enough yet. Do these three who have watched the performances all season think we bought poor players in general in the summer with a couple of exceptions.. We have had all the excuses this player is for the future, this player will take time to get up to speed, this player is lacking fitness, this player will take time to adapt to the physicality of the championship BS they have been here between 4 to 6 months and haven't cut it. Blame the coach if you like but as I have been saying for months data based recruitment is flawed. Sheehan and his coaching staff have gone, last Saturday's game was just a fiasco in selection and tactics, bringing Santos on and pushing Burgess forward and wide, what was that all about. The selection team last night preferred what we had last season and in my opinion did well until they scored and heads dropped. So is this squad any better than ladt season currently no in my opinion.
