Even after going 2 up today you just know what was likely to happen at some point.. You cant trust any of them.. Key is soooo bad at the moment I cant believe hes in the team every week.. Burgess looks shot to pieces and certainly not a leader like we was hoping for from a recently promotion winning side in Ipswich... Cabango all at sea.. Unless we can somehow plug the dam soon I think we're in real trouble

| Our Defence on 21:26 - Nov 29 with 1788 views | Ferryjack123 | It's not just going off today's game.. We've conceded 20 goals in the last 10 games not including the cup.. Even if your not good at maths youd be able to work out thats 2 goals on average per game.. wont get anywhere conceding that amount of goals | | | |
| Our Defence on 21:37 - Nov 29 with 1740 views | Whiterockin | We need to defend from the front, we don't. Our press is haphazard and not organised, we lack physicality and when it gets tough fall over and hope for a free kick, just not good enough. | | | |

Today was about attack being the best form of defence. I lost my my voice in shouting at keeping the press up after the second goal but no they kept sitting back. I wasn't surprised at all when we conceded. Matos has a massive job on. [Post edited 29 Nov 21:38]

if you look at all our games so far, in the early ones we got away lightly with poor finishing from the other sides and good keeping, weve been poor all season.
| Our Defence on 22:15 - Nov 29 with 1582 views | Dr_Winston | Fairly obvious that Matos needs to get his preferred coaching staff in and working ASAP. There is a tendency for people to think that poor performances automatically equate to poor players. They do this because it's both fun and easy to slag players off. They ignore the too numerous to count examples of when players have turned things around when properly organised. Hell, it happened to us almost instantaneously last season when we finally booted Williams. I've seen green shoots in the way we've started games since Matos took over, but it's going to take some work to stretch that out to 90 minute performances. As a club we owe it to him to make that process as easy as possible. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

| Our Defence on 22:25 - Nov 29 with 1551 views | Ferryjack123 | The first 20mins definitely showed there is something there to work with for Matos.. HOWEVER unless we stop offering up chances from corners and leaving players cross the ball in without no pressure then all that will be undone... How many times has the left winger lately had the freedom of the pitch because Key is nowhere to be seen.. it cant keep happening.. we scored 2 today and still i6 wasn't enough.. we're not good enough at the moment to be scoring 3 goals a game to win a match | | | |
| Our Defence on 22:26 - Nov 29 with 1548 views | PawelAbbott | Defensively we are an utter shambles. But against one of the weaker sides in the division we only had 3 shots. I like the look of the squad, it looks to be better than we have had for a while but they just cannot play together currently. They look like a group of random, disinterested strangers | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I said it on the other thread , our players are marked tightly ,we leave wide players in acres of space , how hard is it to tell Tymon and Key to mark tighter , they also don’t tackle or even try to get a foot in,Tymon backs off constantly until he’s in the box or the player gets a cross in which is pretty much every time someone runs at him, Key is just all over the place, his positioning and body angles are terrible and he’s by passed so easily We’ve got a real problem defending anything in the air, crosses, free kicks, corners and throw ins and also winning the second ball, other teams just look quicker and sharper than us Second half today Mason made 4 subs and it changed the game completely, every time WBA broke they had players in space all over the pitch,it was as if they had more players on the pitch, when we had the ball all our players were marked and closed down quickly ,our subs changed nothing , is this down to tactical naivety by the manager or the players just not seeing what’s going on and reacting Hopefully Matos’ coaching team can sort it out,we’re in for a crap second half of the season if they can’t

I have to add for a tall bloke,Vigaroux is absolutely awful in the air ,rarely comes for a high ball not even to punch and seems glued to his line

maybe he is following the coaching he is being given.....Marge is the top goalkeeping coach in the UK....if its a huge problem Im sure Marge would correct it....If it wasnt for Vigs we might well have conceded a lot more goals this season

Like the rest , he is broken We have a chasm between fans and players and players and coaching staff Owners seem as bad as previous Thousands have walked away and more will follow They might be plastics though or not proper fans or simply folk who are disgusted at what is going on and putting their money somewhere else The bastards eh We have a team of spineless footballing cowards exemplified by Ronald and EOM Our full backs are and always have been our problem Both given longer contracts Mind blowing decisions

Well he was sent off in October and banned for a couple of games and hasn't really come back from that.

I was seeing exactly the same as you especially regards them seemingly having more players on the pitch. They always had space and I have to say that man for man they were better. Matos spoke of bringing the identity back to Swansea. We need to ask the question whether that style is suited to the rough and tumble of the Championship. We need more steel in the side, more aerial ability especially in the midfield and more pace. Not much to ask, is it?🙄

| Our Defence on 10:35 - Nov 30 with 1032 views | controversial_jack | WBA did a job on us. They closed us down in the middle and didn't allow us any time. Our players didn't have the basic ball skills to counteract that. No movement off the ball, no imagination , no pace , no width. Squad just not up to it | | | |

They were booed off at halftime, they were 2-0 down. Mason made four substitutions, a bit silly if your team is on top. 7 minutes later they had scored two goals and were level. I'll just leave it there.

That might be the case but WBA started taking control of the game around the 20/25 min mark, so you are both right.
