Poku 14:51 - Dec 22 with 4720 viewssprocket

Very little game time and although not fully match fit is fit enough for bench and the odd 5 or 10 minutes at the end of the game. We have plenty of options but a little frustrating we are not seeing much if him. Looking forward to seeing him more...

Did you watch the Boro game last week? Twice, when at 0-0 Smyth went through and had options, and picked the wrong option both times. Not good.

I do hope he stays though as I think he is a big personality that is a massive influence off the pitch. Watch his reaction to the Leicester goals, but......

He isn't going to be offered a big money contract, and will he want to be a backup?
Part of me hopes he goes back to Leyton Orient, on more money as a starter, and ripes it up.

I watched that game and yes, he fluffed his lines on both occasions with poor option selections, but at least he was involved in that game and wasn't a bystander like Saito. He also didn't let his head drop, as evidenced by his direct run when he switched to the left, which resulted in him being fouled in the Boro penalty area.

Without Smyth, we would only have two away victories to date. For a bit part player he has had far more telling moments in away games than either of the much-vaunted Saito or Dembele.

Here's hoping that these two actually show up against Pompey, when selected from the start, and begin to contribute with their own telling moments in away games.
