Is the season over? 20:36 - Jan 19 with 3407 viewsGloucs_R

Unlikely to go up or down....

Hopefully we will get a top half finished which will be massive progress.

Should we concentrate now on blooding younger players and giving them experience at playing at this level? Appreciate we are having to do that anyway at the moment due to injuries.

If so who would be the two or three players you would all pick that you would like to see given more time on the pitch.

Poll: Are we staying up?

It's always next week, next season, next year, jam tomorrow isn't it?

We'll rest our players for the cup so we can lose the following week in some awful league game. At least we corrected that for West Ham. Hopefully Nourry understands this should be for all cups, everywhere, not just when we have 9,000 away tickets sold.

Now we are thinking of building for next season. Can't we give it a go now? With our model we have no idea when we are going to have to sell an asset so perhaps we should be going full bore every single game we play. I know that is outdated, but hey.

For me - long-term thinking = Loftus Road, training ground, infrastructure.

Football matches - best possible XI on the pitch every single league and cup game unless it is mathematically impossible to do anything in either direction towards the end of a season.

I like your comments about us going full bore but I don't think you meant it in terms of us putting everyone to sleep at Stoke and Oxford. That really was fully boring.

In contrast bottom 3 Norwich won at Wrexham and thrashed the Baggies by actually playing football. My Canaries mate is egging me to take his bet they will finish above us this season. I don't think I will indulge him seeing that we let them have 6 points off us. I reckon I will be on a loser there.

The season is not over and should not be over. The play offs are still within reach. The league is not strong; outside the top 2-3, everyone is much of a muchness. We should give it a go. Otherwise what is the point.

However injuries, and the way we’ve played in general since the Leicester peak, which has been so insipid, makes you think it might just peter out. That would be a shame. With this squad (relative to last year’s) we should be bettering last season’s position and points total by some way.
