Spot on Clive. Sorry to introduce golf, but even great players like Seve had some dodgy gamesmanship in their locker. Personally, I'm fine with it as it doesn't look like a rule/law change is coming anytime soon.

Would very much like Sam Field to be involved tonight, given how well he did here last season. Although it really does feel like he's being pushed out the club
Got to agree with this. I'm still not sold on the manager - we have a better squad than last season and even with all the injuries should still have enough to actually aspire to win tonight. The way we approached the matches over Christmas was bizarre and didn't even work in terms of protecting players from injuries. Stephan does seem pretty one-dimensional in terms of style and his in-game management has hardly been inspirational.
One of the selling points when he came in was that he's supposedly good at developing young players. Have we seen much evidence of that this season? Morgan and Kolli have barely played. Morrison is off on loan. Walsh has only just come back into the side. Others have been restricted to cameos. Our wingers have all been underwhelming.
Our best players this season have been Dunne, Madsen, Burrell and RN-D, who's on loan. He gets a tick for playing Madsen regularly and getting him going but Varane has arguably regressed at the same time. Yeah, still more questions than answers for me. I hope we show some ambition this evening.

Kolli has been unavailable through injury and you would hardly have replaced Burrell for Kolli in any case as our top scorer. Morgan has been unlucky as he doesn’t really fit into the system we’ve played with two up front. He’s not a RB though. Morrison had chances but has really not been good this season and we can’t afford to play people through bad patches at the back when you’ve got Dunne and Cook playing pretty well and Ronnie coming in. He needs to play himself back into form so it’s good to have him out on loan.
Varane hasn’t regressed defensively. He’s performed well. He hasn’t kicked on but again this could be down to the formation. There’s only two in midfield and Madsen as the better player creatively pushes up, which means Varane is more likely to have to sit in front of the defence. But he has got two assists which isn’t bad in the context of our team.
I agree that we aren’t making our subs early enough. Not sure why as they seem to get later and later. Especially as Esquerdinha and Adamson made a difference in energy levels when they came on. As for changing style it’s worked pretty well most of the season and after the Coventry debacle and the pelters we got for being too open against Middlesbrough I can understand his pragmatism.
That said this is a match we have to go for. No excuses not to go out to win tonight. From Clive stats if we can score two goals we’re more than likely to win so that’s got to be the objective from the off.

Suspect if Field is not involved tonight he might be off, as rumoured.
