It’s about the right mix and at the moment we don’t have enough physicality. If we have any ambitions on promotion next season we are going to need one or two ‘enforcers’ in the side. Pretty football can only get us so far, sometimes it needs to be a physical grind which we don’t do well in currently. |  |

As a unit, we are frail and teams know this and market this , as they do our inability for our defenders to “ play out”
They just wait for mistakes
We seem to take it on turn, Cabsngo, Burgess now Tymon who’s had a decent season , at least going forward
And going forward is what we are better at so why not do it instead of faffing about endlessly
We know exactly what Stoke will do
Personally , I’d start Ward and see how he goes as he’s relatively big
Solid at the back , sparky in midfield and dynamic up front

I hope Matos has seen enough of us faffing around with goal kicks and the sideways cack at the back and will get Vigs to vary goal kicks more ,we know they’ll press us so kick over it 🤷♂️
Mark their wide players tight and try and limit corners and free kicks and get to every ball first
Play fast attacking football and we will beat them,revert back to sideways and back and it will be a long day

I’ve been thinking the same thing for a long time. You don’t see anyone in The Premiership getting knocked off the ball regularly. What was that strap line we had a few years back ?

I remember Craig Bellamy talking about the difference between the Championship and the premiership . He said that premiership players were stronger fitter faster . Their all round athletic ability is greater than championship players . Add to that the passing accuracy in the prem and you can see why so many championship teams struggle with the transition.
You only have to watch a prem game to realise this - they are different animals . And those "animals" don't come cheap another reason why championship teams are doomed to fail more often than not when they step up. | | | |
