I like many on here remember 1982 as if it was yesterday and the horrors of Bluff Cove being beamed live on almost live TV. Apart from the Troubles it was the first conflict brought straight into UK homes, something we take for granted in 2026 but seeing British ships on fire, aircraft being shot down body bags and the wounded was a shock to the system in 1982. These things have a lasting impression.
