It's by and large players' wages. According to the article, QPR spend less than many, but in the 24/25 season, the percentage of revenue spent on wages was still 96%. It's no wonder the new Squad Cost Rules have come into force.
The article made me wonder how much we've pushed the boat out in wages for some of our recent signings. I can't think Lamptey or Cirkin came cheap even though they were 'free' signings. |  | | |  |

True. But as of last night wed lost 13 and only signed 6. Allegedly, Steve Cook was 1 of the top earners. I dont suppose Nardi, Hayden nor Field were on peanuts.
As I suspect there will be quite a few more going out on loan, where if we have to pay anything it will be a proportion of their wages. |  |

We are 14th in wages relative to income which is pretty good (or perhaps “less bad”). These figures are for 2024/5 tho’ and you would imagine that the wage bill would have increased as the calibre of player has improved, albeit a number of our signings have been from L1, etc. |  | | |

If we were finishing higher, or indeed do, then we're doing well and exceeding the median.

What does most peoples nut in is the parasitic Agents and the like syphoning further money out of Contracts for very little positive contribution. |  |
