Won't make any difference really, though we won't know until the end of the season. A similar thing happened with Southampton years ago and they got a 10 point deduction, so there is a precedent here. Basically Company 'A' bought Sheffield United in staged payments and the last payment of £35 million is overdue. Sheffield United has now been 'bought' by Company 'B', who are the same people. They now claim that they don't owe the money. The debt belongs to Company 'A', while Sheffield United belong to Company 'B'. Although they are the same directors, they are legally separate legal entities.
