First game I have seen live today, and many more displays like that will see much of the fantastic support that has been generated by our exploits from last season quickly disappear
We appeared very lightweight virtually everywhere on the pitch, we were just over run once we had conceded the 1st goal. Ramming is a tall lad but was far too easily beaten for the first goal. The doubts about having a very young keeper which Whatmuff dispelled last season have come back with a vengeance this year. I see that there are calls for Waller to be given a chance , but feel we are stuck with Ramming as it likely that a condition of his loan would be that he gets game time. There was a suggestion on social media yesterday (yes i know there might be lies lies and social media) that he is earning in excess of £400 ,000 a year so Brighton won't want him bench warming.
Next question, you are 4-0 down, 10 mins left , you as the Manager put on a couple of attacking players do you tell them to show what they can do. we can still get a draw out of this because I am pretty sure the player thinks what a waste of time this is, I should have been on 20 minutes ago.
Appreciate that the injury list he has is huge, but there is already discontent from fans in the ground calling for him to be sacked, if Watson can't turn it around relatively quickly that noise may well become ever louder | | | |

Game started really well for us until the injury to their winger then we lost it. 4 out of 5 loan players in the defence with most being young screwed us. I would never have started the right back today when he only trained with the team for a week ?? Defensively we were a mess and their high press forced them into errors too many times.
Mani was awful, completely out muscled by Beckles , I don't think he won a single header and he looked disinterested. Brown tried, Adeeko tried , but we were outplayed today in midfield... Stupid sending off that ended the game ...cannot think of a single positive with a lot of the stadium emptying out on 67 minutes.
IW has a serious problem with making substitutions as he could have saved this match with more tactical awareness.
Very disappointing after Tuesday night , we need to sort the defence out asap and Wilson is a liability no way is he ready for league football...praying for some defensive players coming fit...🙏 | | | |

As a fanbase I think the Dale fans are quite a patient and realistic lot. We've certainly experienced enough over the years to know what we could and should put up with.
The optimistic out there have been clinging onto the hope that Tuesday was a sign of dawn breaking, but today gave a lot more evidence that the light in the tunnel was a train approaching.
His team selection was ok, but the test of a decent manager is to assess whether your initial plans are working, and if they aren't do something about it - at the right time. It was 6 minutes after the sending off that he put Gilmour on, and he waited until 81 before making another 2 subs. And Mani's obligatory hooking off with 2 minutes of normal time to go - what does IW see in his performances to justify keeping him on the pitch? As many have said, Hendo at least looks like he's bothered and in all his short cameos shows a willingness to try something different.
If IW lasts beyond the fans forum, it probably goes without saying we need something special next week to justify our faith in him in our first league game against decent opposition. [Post edited 5 Sep 23:54]

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned the post match interview with Watson. He looked a beaten man who’s ready to throw in the towel. Looked utterly detached, dejected and distraught. Nice guy but clearly out of his depth at this level. All of last season’s positivity has well and truly been flushed down the pan with this guy in charge. Come on the Board. Like a lot of fans at the moment I'm just stunned how games are panning out at the moment.
Like the manager, shocking injury list, pre season disrupted.
Some really good players who are applying themselves
Some poor signings who should never have been on our radar.( Maguire/Sherring)

The responses given post match by IW were very plausible but he is now under intense pressure. As he acknowledges he needs to deliver points and the next two games are critical. Patience is a virtue but time is running out.
The Fans Forum should be postponed as this could do more harm than good. It would no doubt focus on obvious errors with signings, selections substitutions etc.
Sam Waller who is a competent goalkeeper surely need to relieve Ramming at the moment. As has been stated elsewhere Wilson is not ready for EFL2 football. I think we may be stuck with Sherring and Maguire.
Given Mani's form we may need to play with a false No 9 and utilise wingers to attack unless we find an unregistered player. Even so we now have too many wingers.
Our strength is in midfield and we should seek to utilise Adeeko, Taylor and Gilmour as often as possible in coming weeks. Hopefully others returning from injury will also help although most are long term casualties.
I am not confident we do have the calibre in the squad and waiting for the January window will be too late. What has TAR done wrong not to feature in games?
Given that it is early days, I do think there are three or for teams who are as poor as us therefore we should focus on our own mini league at the bottom of the table. We need to be a s competitive as possible.

Mani had plenty of games last season when he was completely anonymous as well, they were just glossed over because of his goals. It's strange because for the first time this season on Tuesday it looked like Watson had lit a fire under him by dropping him and he did put in a bit of a shift but yesterday was a cakewalk for Beckles.
