Bristol City are bringing their own referee, Sam Allison, with them today. He's a local lad and both he and his cousin were Bristol City players.
Kubala, their manager, was of course manager of Lincoln last season so their tactics will be the same. Let's hope Scienza is wearing extra large shinpads and full body armour because Sam Allison and the rest of the Bristol City team are going to make sure he gets a right kicking.

I guess this is how the Boro-led EFL will operate from now on: they'll try to find ex-players and fans of the teams we play against to referee our games. They'll probably use the same excuse that they did when they put an ex-Boro player on the disciplinary panel: that a certain number of years have elapsed since he was their player.

Guess who was the referee for our last league defeat at St Mary's?
The EFL must know this is Tonda's last home game for a while so they've appointed a special referee to try to end the 8 month unbeaten run and who better than.....

Questions definitely need to be asked if this ref has a shocker.
It's probably the EFL doing all they can to hinder us by appointing bias refs. It wouldn't surprise me. I guess we'll see come 5 o'clock. |  |

Obviously, he allowed them to injure Scienza, as predicted, but he wasn't as bad as I expected. He didn't disallow any of our goals or give them a penalty.
From where I was, their goal looked offside, but I haven't seen a replay. The deflection off Tolaj took the ball into the net and he appeared to be standing just in front of the goal line with no defender in front of him. Our players didn't protest though, so perhaps I missed something. It's a pity they don't replay the opposition goals on the big screen, like they do the home ones, especially if they're offside.
Didn't the Bristol City fans at one point briefly sing, "Sam Allison, he's one of our own"? But, most of the singing from both sets of fans seemed to be about libraries of one sort or another. Those City fans, at least the ones who stayed, were silent and dejected towards the end. They didn't sell out their allocation so there were quite a few empty away seats in the Kingsland anyway. Have just Wikipidia'd him. Total West Country boy from Chippenham, ok nearest FL team is Swindon but started his playing days at BC though never made the 1st team, but did play for almost every decent non league team in that area so clearly has a preference for that area
I didn't think there were too many clear and obvious preferences to them yesterday other than the two times Larin got clouted but he should not have been in charge of that game
I can remember when they used to give the ref's name and also where he comes from along with the team sheets. At least you could be prepared for some dodgy goings on then!
