Seen a” survey” on FB as to where is the least friendly part of our country
Just about 50/50 London and Wales with 100% citing Caernarfon as the worst and accepting South Wales far friendlier
Personally , London and the S/E least friendly
Nobody will make eye contact nor acknowledge you
My opinion is South Eales IS generally friendly and some places exceptionally so
I’d say the Gogs give Wales a bad name

London in opinion but what you say about the Gogs is true, they can be extremely unfriendly even to South walians depending on whether they are indy supporting nationalists because they are some of the most bitter, angry people I've come across. | | | |

They are quick enough to take foreigners money
There is little attempt to interact with English visitors and those moving for a retirement or renovating a derelict home had better wise up
Speaking Welsh doesn’t count as if you do and it’s not local gog welsh then you are still an outsider
Caernarfon and Bangor city is a tasty deal too
It’s a beautiful part of the world however but no visitor is going to be fully welcomed | |

Why would anyone grade a fellow countryman by the mother tongue
80 per cent have English as mother tongue and are as “ proud” as some Gog in a narrow Welsh only village of being Welsh
Nobody has ever in my lifetime ferreted to people from NW Wales as friendly
People visit as it’s beautiful

The pubs in Charlton Village east Of Greenwich and south of Eltham are particularly unfriendly.
North west Welsh have a nasty habit of speaking their own language in public places in the presence of English people. This is seen as anti social by some. They do not seem concerned about Pakistani or Bangladeshis at home.. [Post edited 15 Sep 11:49]

Similar happens when you walk into a pub in parts of West Wales & they all start speaking Welsh.
It certainly doesn't make them more Welsh than me. In fact Id go as far as say I am far more concerned about Wales thriving as a country than the PC lot.
Personal opinion but I think Wales (as a country) has far more important things to spend money on than promoting the Welsh language.
As for unfriendly parts of the country, I find if you treat people with respect they give it back wherever you are. [Post edited 15 Sep 12:27]

Mainly in Wales , the divide, and it is , lies with urban and rural
Urban more cosmopolitan so open
Rural more conservative and reserved
For friendly , the north east is best

Most unfriendly place I’ve ever visited in the UK by a country mile is Lampeter. The whole time we were there we were aggressively asked “are you English?”. I got randomly assaulted by this big fat monster of a woman in a pub, apparently she didn’t like the way I looked at her and she just started battering me. Then she had the cheek to call the police and said I assaulted her. They took one look at the cctv, saw I did literally nothing apart from sit there and be battered and they asked if I wanted to press charges. I didn’t want to go through the rigmarole of it so I said no. Should have in hindsight.
Couldn’t wait to get away from the place. Will never go back. |  |

North Walians are called unfriendly and ignorant for speaking Welsh in pubs in their own villages by tourist. It is not an acceptable point of view. It is repeated time after time.
