Chickens coming home to roost 17:59 - Oct 13 with 684 viewsSullutaCreturned

It's been discussed on here a fair few times and many of us has said we think a cliff edge is coming, well now it's sort of official,

I wonder which clubs are the 6%?

I keep saying it, but as iffy as a lot of owners/administrators are, fans bear a significant amount of the responsibility for where the game is financially.

A board or collective of owners who held onto any kind of support from their respective fanbases if they insisted on only spending what the club could generate itself would be rarer than hens teeth. Even owners who put in eight figure sums a year to keep things level could get accused of penny pinching, as our last ones were.

If the game is ever going to be run on any kind of sensible financial basis again, fixing supporter expectation has to be part of the solution.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I kind of agree but there's a whole lot more to it. We see clubs chasing the Premier league dream and we know how our own wage bill shot up trying to avoid relegation.

Then it's something else that's been said about Manchester City, all their spending inflated the market so transfer fees rose, wages rose. No player should be on 500k per week, it's absurd. Even today with so many clubs in tonnes of debt some supporters defend the wages.

The fit and proper test has failed, the FFP/PSR rregulations didn't go far enough quick enough and now football could be on the verge of a catastrophic collapse.

Also in the news, the football regulator has said he'll quit if Burnham doesn't butt out. He doesn't want political interference and rightly so.

Football finances have been unsustainable for decades but somehow things roll on with only the occasional club hitting the buffers. Man City are not the only club bending the rules and if the punishment is not too draconian others will not worry too much about continuing to bend the rules.

I hope Citeh get everything that can be given in the way of penalties, remember when they were hoovering up other clubs best players without the intention of playing them , Scott Sinclair and Bony being two of ours , money in any aspect of life is and always has been the root of evil and the world of football is no exception.

Another report stating the bleeding obvious. Lip service will be paid….and nothing more until the next report comes out. When a Sheffield Wednesday situation is allowed to happen no one really asks why it happened in the first place. Along come new owners with more promises to the fans and so it goes on and on.
