MiIlwall Away - Advice Requested 16:18 - Oct 16 with 972 viewsDylanP

I am coming to England for my annual trip and will only be in town for one QPR game; away to Millwall. It's been four decades since I've been to the Dell (if it is even called that anymore). I would appreciate any advice on getting tickets in the away end and anything else that might be useful. I'm planning to get the train there from London Bridge to South Bermondsey Station.

Anyhow, I would appreciate any wisdom that the experienced heads on here could offer.

Poll: Who is the Best QPR Chairman in the last 25 Years?

Maybe worth contacting the club beforehand as an out of towner and seeing if you can get a ticket that way. I’m guessing it might be pretty popular so difficult to get tickets without points.

It’s pretty organised leaving the ground after the match - I was bit apprehensive about being penned in for ages but they funnel away fans direct to the station. Borough Market is a lovely post match option after the game for a drink and something to eat. Direct line to London Bridge and a short walk.

Not been to the Den for years now. I vaguely remember a 2-2 draw after which we were held in a cage for nearly an hour, although I’m told that doesn’t happen anymore.

As well as Borough Market, the ‘Bermondsey Beer Mile’ looks like an intriguing place for a pre-match livener.

I went with my son for the first time ever and it was a much milder experience than I expected, though the fact that we’d more or less given them them the game after 15 minutes took a lot of the sting out. Very tightly policed, both at the ground and London Bridge Station, the police gave us priority at the station afterwards (it is very cramped there), sight lines and facilities at the ground better than LR. And the noise! Even louder than I expected. Well worth doing, if only we had played for more than 15 minutes when the game was already gone. The one drawback is that you are made to take the train back to LB, we wanted to walk to Deptford.

It could get interesting this season as there will be Millwall fans sharing the stands with us,separated by a few covers on the seats.I don’t know how they segregate the concourse outside though.
