| Poland 18:35 - Oct 31 with 1084 views | Dr_Winston | The EU up to their usual tricks of subverting democracy when things don't go their way. Rerun votes, attempts to ban anti-EU politicians, even downright election rigging. No tactics appear to be low enough for the Globalists to utilise them. Wouldn't piss the Poles off in this day and age though. | |

| Poland on 18:51 - Oct 31 with 1055 views | Gwyn737 | I don’t understand this one. The government have done a lot of work to protect polish sovereignty which has put then at odds with the EU. I assumed that they’d go for a Polexit but having read around it a bit it seems that it’s not what the public want. All seems a bit odd and more like a clash of egos than serving the public. | | | |
| Poland on 18:56 - Oct 31 with 1048 views | Dr_Winston | From what I can gather (I know a couple of Poles) they don't mind being in the EU but on their terms, and are prepared to stick two fingers up if that's not an option. They're not interested all that much in open borders, surrendering the Zloty or enacting basically every dictat that comes from Brussels. A bit like we were really. Tusk has been maneuvered back into power to break this deadlock and integrate the Poles more, and is trying to get rid of anyone that can stop him. | |

Is it that he’s got back in on a pro EU mandate? I can understand with their history being part of a bigger bloc is comforting…
| Poland on 23:36 - Oct 31 with 844 views | majorraglan | It’s a complicated issue going back a number of years, the BBC article summarises the issues but if you want to get more background it’s best to read several different publications. Tusk is pro EU, while there are others who say the previous government and current president are more anti EU and possibly more pro Russia in a similar manner to Orban. I was talking to a Polish friend yesterday who went in to a lot more detail about it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/ | | | |

Finished the last election as head of the second largest party, but leading a coalition of pro-EU/left wing/Globalist types. To be honest, after spending much of the last several centuries as a puppet state of a larger entity (usually Russian) I'd expect most Poles to feel completely the opposite.

On their own terms. Like I said, happy to be part of the EU, but disinterested in going the whole hog. Massively anti-migration, which I suspect would swing things the other way if a Tusk Government starts following Commission orders. Poland represent an option that those in charge of the EU project would like to see erased. Willing to be part of a community of nations, but still very much their own country. There is a very obvious emphasis in Western European Governments particularly to shut down opposition to the Globalist approach by any means necessary. Tusk is very much part of that group.

A globalist Europe will put even more pressure on the working person, there'll be little difference in income between those on benefits and those working, who will be paying for everything whilst the rich get richer and richer, immigration will be even worse than now as well its a disgusting concept, evil even.

I don't see any Pole being pro Russia in any way. We used to have some Polish friends, our kids were in school together, they hated Russia with a passion, Katyn is still strong in Polish memories. Put another way, the Polish army is being built up and quickly too, I only see one reason for doing that, the threat Russia poses to them. https://www.realcleardefense.c

Most do hate Russia, but there’s a small cohort who yearn for the “good old days.” - It’s the same in Hungary, a lot of the Hungarians despise Russia, but there’s a pretty big group who’d welcome them back. I was in Budapest a few years ago and visited the KGB museum, what the Russians got up to was awful. I dare say the Russians are dropping generous amounts of roubles into the back pockets of quite a few people out across most of Europe.

Not only Katyn but the Warsaw uprising and the subsequent cold war occupation , hence their extremely strong views on protecting their borders and the desire to keep the EU at arms length

Poland joined the Schengen agreement on December 21st 2007 for land and sea borders, on March 29th 2008 for airports. Poland the country has grown richer, it's GDP per capita GDP has increased from under 50% to over 80%, it's been the largest benefactor of EU structural and investment funding at around 160 billion. Even so, I wonder were most of that wealth is? Is it with the workers or the 1%?

The Warsaw uprising was the Nazi's but yes, Poland and Russia have a lot of bad history. One thing I know, the Poles will fight, if Russia comes they will fight, I'm not sure the UK will, too many of our young would refuse. From what I've read a lot of veterans would refuse these days too.

Poland won't ever let themselves get into the situation as to when the Nazi's persecuted and murdered their people, their army is highly trained highly paid and completely motivated by history. [Post edited 2 Nov 19:04]
